510 Atomizer Reisistance

Does anybody know what might drop the 510 Atomizer from its original 3.3 ohms to 2.7 ohms? I have cleaned the atty in hydrogen peroxide and rinsed in water, and then blown it out aggressively, let it dry. Even when dry I am getting a much lower reading than I believe I am supposed to. This seems to be causing a drastic reduction in vapor and throat hit. Does this mean it's time to fork over some cash for a new atty? Thanks for your help!

I definitely clean too much. Although I haven't run into this problem with my M601/602. I had actually loaned the 510 to a friend and it didn't get cleaned for about a month, so I went about cleaning it. I'll just let the juice soak in and pray for increased performance.

Pray? That's a little dramatic, isn't it?

From the sound of your posts in this thread you only have the one 510 atty? That's a disaster waiting to happen. There shouldn't be all that much change in the resistance reading between a dirty and clean atomizer, some variation but not a whole lot. Your atty may be FTD. (fixing to die) It makes sense to get yourself a few spares, Chris. I recently bought 20 Joyes for slightly more than the cost of a carton of cigarettes -- that's probably a year's worth of attys compared to a week's worth of cigarettes. And I didn't even have to pray. =)

At the moment, I actually own a M601/602 and the 510. I use the 510 as a backup and loaner to friends I am trying to persuade into vaping. I have 3 attys for the 601, and the original 510 atty is about 2 months old, so I'm not shocked. Unfortunately, I lost my job a couple of months ago, so cash flow prohibits me from ordering backup attys on more than one device. But what a life saver the e-cig has been! I haven't had to worry about having 6 bucks every other day to buy new cigarettes, because I have a couple of 30 ml bottles of juice in storage and plenty of mixing supplies. I am so glad I made the switch.

If it was originally 3.3 ohms it isn't a Joye 510 atty. It has to be one of the many clones being made these days and a drastic ohm shift like that means it's probably had it.
