I try not to constantly vape, so mine lasts around 4-6 hours.
Question, does the passthrough work by not wearing down your battery at all or does it just charge it as you go?
Status Update:
Just in case anyone is interested - I got home and was looking at the junk in the PCC - it seemed that there was a ring of crud on the contact inside. I used a Q-Tip and 70% Isopropyl Alcohol on it - cleaned it up real good and the PCC is back in business!

I guess there are different types of passthroughs. Some have batteries inline and some don't. The ones with batteries run your PV at its normal 3.8 +/- volts and the the USB 5v output charges it as you use it. Others don't have batteries and basically run your PV at 5v. In my opinion, I'd rather avoid over-volting the addy as I feel it will shorten the lifespan. In either case, you don't use your normal battery at all while using the passthrough.
Do you have a 510? If so, I bought two from Innovapor (510 USB Passthrough - Never Ending USB Power for your 510! - $24.00 : InnoVapor, The Finest in Personal Vaporizers).
They both work great. I can vape ALL day with no problems and if you will be away from the PC for a while to run a quick errand around the house or work, just unplug from USB port and bring the whole thing with you and stick the USB end in your pocket. Continues to work for quite some time! Plus as others have mentioned, you can get a cig lighter to USB adapter and vape all day in your car without a traditional battery. Some don't like this style (with inline battery) but I love it. I may even buy a third soon just to keep in my car for emergencies.
I do recommend to plug in and charge for at least a few hours before first use and I also don't leave it plugged into the computer (if on) all day unless I am actively using it otherwise it may overcharge/kill the battery. Also, make sure you put the battery in right. Sounds silly, I know, but these batts don't have typically "obvious" + and - ends..... you need to look closely at the markings on the battery. I mention this because I saw on another thread someone claimed it got real hot and quit working. May have been defective, or may have had battery in backwards.I have also seen someone mention that they are a AA or AAA battery. They ARE NOT, but they should come with the battery and you can also order them online from any decent battery store.
I am taking Percocet from a recent back fusion and tend to ramble even more than usual lately. Sorry! Anyway, just my two cents and some pocket lint on the passthrough thing. I love them!![]()
Someone mentioned that it may hurt the atty or something to do that all day?

For the ones without the battery running your PV at 5v instead of 3.7 or 3.8, yeah, I could definitely see that burning out an atty quicker.
On the other hand, even with the inline battery type, there may be increased risk: Knowing that I will not have to swap the battery every hour or two, I tend to use it CONSTANTLY while at the computer. Each burning of the atty is probably cutting its life (much as a light bulb that is on more often).
One rule that I do follow religiously though is that I never hold the button down for more than 5 seconds (passthrough or not), and if I feel the atty getting pretty warm from frequent use, I put it down for 10 minutes.
Good luck, and if/when you get one, I think you will like it!![]()
I highly recommend the passthrough. Not only is it great for when you are at your PC but if you are traveling you can hook it up to the car charger. I travel a bunch for work so that helps a lot!
On the topic of 510 batteries, I have a Titan from TW with a manual batt. Here's what happens to me typically: First pull (~4-5 seconds), I get a good vape. Second pull the blue LED fades in about 2-3 seconds and I get a weak vape. Third pull and the blue LED fades almost instantly, no vape. If I remove the atty and press the button the LED remains lit... now my atty isn't really hot at this point, I have liquid and this has happened with different attys. If I wait maybe 5 mins I can repeat that cycle.
I can survive ok when I go mobile but I really do rely on my passthrough, in fact if I know I'm going to be out and about for a long time I'll take it with me since it holds a charge but it's kind of clunky to be vaping on that while mobile. Is my battery jacked up? (I only have 1 battery right now)
cmdrmaxwell, my battery is new, they shouldn't go out that fast - how old is yours? I think the charging of the battery might be the issue. The kit I received included the PCC and the charging accessories for that but not one to directly charge the battery. The PCC cuts off charging when it detects a certain voltage from the battery. I'm guessing that if I plugged this battery into a charger instead of the PCC and gave it a good 12 hours it would perform properly...
I was thinking about ordering a charger and extra batteries to test my theory but I ordered a Prodigy (510) instead so I can just use the passthrough at home and have something more reliable on the go...![]()
