510 Cart Cleaning - Condensate-catcher alignment?

If you pull the cap off a 510 atty, there is a little silicone cup with a hole in the middle that catches condensate. It looks like it should be aligned straight to "plug" the cart. But in every cart I've opened so far, it's been installed at an angle. I don't know if it's supposed to be at an angle, or if these carts were just sloppily assembled. The carts seem much harder to draw through with the catchers installed straight, but perhaps they're doing a better job of catching the condensate that way? Which is correct?

Yeah, I found that out too. I reposition mine straight and seat them at the bottom. IMO it prevents gurgling at keeps the moisture in the atomizer. If you look correctly they are tilted so that the low side is in alignment with one of the suction holes allowing to drain. I find they work better flat.
