510 cart melting

Alright I've seen people talk about their carts melting, and usually it's because the atty bridge needs to be centered. I have centered my bridge in both of the atty's and tried a new cart, after about two refills of the cart it melts down again. What is causing this if it's not the bridge? I'm not tasting any plastic when I take a puff off of it but it does worry me a little bit. I hold the button down as I'm bringing the e-cig to my mouth, then let go of the button about a second before I finish taking my drag. All in all it's anywhere between 5-7 seconds long that I hold the button down for. I am constantly topping the cart to make sure nothing is dried out. This has happened to all 3 carts I have tried, still have two more unopened to test with if there are anymore suggestions.

Oh and I do make sure to line the cart up in the same direction as the bridge of the atty.

I was going to start a thread on this, I still might. I've had the dura c for a week now and it works great. But... I just recieved my joye 510 today and I'm having the same problem. I looked at the two attys and they are deff different in the construction. The dura atty's bridge is not as pointy and slightly shorter than the 510 atty. So seems to me the the 510 bridge is getting closer the the plastic cup part of the cart, causing it to get hotter and melt a bit. I took an exacto knife and carved two small arches on the long edges of the cart cup, but I'm still getting a bit of plastic taste. I think im going to try and sand about a 1/16 of an inch off the cup and see how that works. Well I just stopped and tried this, seems to work very well no more plastic taste (for now). It's just my opinion but I like the dura attys better seem to work better for me.

*edit* I also forgot to mention that you have to align the long sides of the cup to the side of the bridge with the little wicks. This seems to keep the edges out of the way of the brigde and keeps them from melting. I also too out the little circle inserts on the drag side and took a lighter to a small sewing needle and burned through a little hole on the back side of the filler cup for venting. This seems to work for me as good as the straw method. It also lets the juice trap still be effective. These attys seem to perfome vaper wise as good as the duras, it's just the carts dont mate as well as they do with the dura attys. Hope this helps a bit.

I don't get it, how about a pic or drawing? I am tired of refilling three or four drops all the time. The straw works great on my 4081 but not really on my 510's.

Hey Hey,

lol yeah, it does sound way more complicated that it is hehe. I have to finish up a video edit for a band tonight, but will be glad to post some pics soon as I can. I'll pm ya when I get em posted. I works really well for me, I think there was a post on a 901 cart that is very similar. I put up one for the 510 soon.

You are still holding the button down too long. No need to. I can get mountains of vapor and throat hit on 3-5 seconds max. If you are melting the cart, it's because of the use of the button. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you are a DIYer and are using something to cut the juice with besides PG/VG (like vodka for instance) the atty will run hotter as well. Also, it is not wise to puff constantly on any pv. Let it cool down a bit. My friend got a brand new 401, went to a club, and her three girlfriends vaped it around until the CART WAS BRIGHT RED! Needless to say,-- not a good idea.
