I keep finding a solution, then finding out a cart or two later that it didn't work. I cannot stop my 510 carts from spewing juice into my mouth.

I tried polyfill which worked out o.k. but not the greatest. I've moved on to Blue foam now but I cannot get it to work.

I've watch all the videos, and I've been constantly messing with shapes and sizes. I use 80%PG/20%VG liquid so its not the thickest stuff on earth.

I've tried full length 50% larger than the cart pieces. I've tried identical to the cart sized full length. I've tried the wedge shape length of cart. I've tried the plug. I just tried the straw/dart type deal with no success.

What do I have to do, to get this thing to wick properly and not drink juice constantly?

I'm about to order 808 cartomizers and call it a day if I can't figure this out.

Ok... rule number's 1 through infinity:

1. Don't over fill the cartridges, they should look broken-glassy on the top... not like a pool.

2. Always wipe off the cartridge you remove along the side and vent slits. Juice getting pulled into the mouth must first be pulled up into the cartridge through the vents. If you do not clean off the side vents, you keep sucking juice. This is especially true when using the same cartridge and refilling constantly.

3. Try a tighter fill on your cartridges. Whether using fluval, polyfill, or another variation too loose results in leakage, too tight results in bad vapor. Some stock polyfill cartridges just suck. Others are great for 10 refills. I buy cartridges from two sources: Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. and Ecigsupply for all your e-cig needs

4. Don't over prime. Some atties will prime with 7 drops, some with 4. Prime with 3 or four when the atty is clean, and add one or two more if the vapor isn't very good.

5. Don't suck too hard (Are you desperate?!?!?!... just kidding)

6. The first cartridge on a newly primed clean atty tend to produce lowish vapor as the atty rewets itself.

7. Cartomizers can and will give you a mouthful of juice.

Hang in there!

So I know I'm not overfilling them because I've made that mistake before. All of my carts are from cignot, some fit tighter than others in the atty though. I'm trying different widths of material, I guess maybe I haven't found the sweet spot yet?

I just took apart about 5 carts and took out the disk inside. I cleaned them all very good to make sure no lingering juice was in the vents. Is this just a part of learning to master carts? I'm using a piece thats just slightly larger than the tube now, its just wide enough to not move freely. It seems to be working ok so far but refill is where I get the most failures.

Sadly, PVs are an imperfect product. I really had to work at getting the feel of what to do and what not to do. It comes with a little time.

You could switch to cartomizers if it seems too much of a hassle. But I like doing all the stuff with these things.

Have you tried the fluval wedge?

My solution that has been consistently working for months now.
Buy genuine Fluval. You use only one of the thin layers for a dozen or so 510 cartridge fillers.
Use a very sharp pair of thread scissors.
Use a pair of bent, smooth tip (non-serrated) stainless steel tweezers. (these tweezers are used for soldering sometimes).

Cut a triangle out of 1 thin sheet of Fluval using the thickest edge of the Fluval for the widest part of the triangle.

Width = 1 3/4 inch
Very important - Cut at an angle from both edges of wide part to make the triangle point 1 1/4 inch from the top.
I've tried just cutting it like a right triangle and it doesn't work nearly as well at wicking most of the juice out of the cart.

(I use cheap and very sharp thread cutter scissors off of e-bay because they cut the Fluval so perfectly and are good to trim the little "fiber hairs" that stick out beyond cart sometimes). They are like $5. for 2 pairs from China.

Take the triangle and roll the pointy end between your fingers to make a sharp, compressed point up to 1/2 of an inch from the top wide edge.

Cut an 1/8 inch off the now rolled pointy end to make it squared.

Add 13 drops e-juice to empty cart. Take modified Fluval triangle that is now a pointy looking thing with a fluffy top and stick the pointy end into the cart rather quickly. It will absorb the juice and you stuff it in until you feel the resistance. There will be only a little of the fluffy top still out of the cartridge. Trim the excess with the very sharp scissors and poke any remaining bit with bent tip, smooth tweezers.

Add another 3-6 drops of ejuice until it almost puddles. It will keep soaking in the first few drops and then will finally be full.

Slide the cart into atty and it's good to go for awhile. On a newly made Fluval filler, you will need to re-fill rather quickly if you vape like I do but this is only after a new filler. After this initial re-fill, I can vape heavily with my eGo PV for quite awhile before it needs filling again.

To replenish juice with this filler, I pull the filler out with the tweezers, add 8-13 drops of juice (depending on how dry you have vaped it), put the filler back in and add more drops of juice until it pools. Good to go for another round of vaping from 30minutes to an hour or so.

I have tried all the other methods and this works for me all the time. The only time I've been able to get it to leak was when I overfilled, didn't screw atty on batt enough, or didn't cut Fluval with a wide enough top. If the pointy end is too short, juice will be left in the cart instead of wicked to almost dry as you vape. Still doesn't leak but it also doesn't wick all the juice from the cart.

I also alternate between PVs to give the juice enough time to wick down to the atty when I vaping a lot.

Good luck. This may sound involved at first and it only takes me a couple minutes start to finish to make a new filler every 3-4 days. You know it will need replacing when it doesn't wick much anymore (gets clogged up).

Vape On!!!!

I used the Marineland Blue foam. If you could point me in the direction of the exact foam you used from an online source I'm totally down to try it. The blue foam wedge worked for a bit then it just started to leak like crazy. I don't mind the tinkering I enjoy it, but I need to know there is a solution that does work so its worth my time :)

The wedge dimensions I used in my videos is really suited to white fluval:

Amazon.com: Hagen Fluval Filter Foam Block 205/305 2pk: Kitchen & Dining

Remember when using it to tighten the wicking through size until you get the optimum.

However, I would suggest trying to find out what is happening that polyfill is flooding your PV. That is somewhat unusual.
