my chargers suck. i have the usb and the ac charger. i constantly need to make sure my batteries are are extremely clean, as well as the ac connection in order for the thing to charge, i usually have to take a toothpick or scribe to clean the ac charger, because the connector is recessed. and the usb charger is so delicate, i have to spend 5 minutes setting it just right to get a good connection.. are there any other options than the standard ones you can get from cignot?

How do you use/store your batteries? Are you using your stuff in some kind of other than normal environment? Apart from that I can't imagine why you would have those kinds of problems.

The USB issue could actually just be your computer. After a while USB ports on computers tend to have a little wear and tear issues. Battery threads should be cleaned at least once a week but, it normally shouldn't pose the problems you've described. Sorry I couldn't help more on that end.

But as far as the USB goes do other devices (anything that plugs into the USB) of the same issues? Have you tried charging on another USB Port/Computer?

USB cables are very strange to me. I have broken 2 recently. Strangely they were both white. Not sure if positioning them in a different way would have fixed the connection, but it didn't matter, I have a boatload of them.

I'm not sure how the USB charger is constructed (same as the PCC?) so this may be a stupid question. Have you tried a different cable? Or as Tony asks, tried a different device?

I had a bum AC charger from cignot; I had to fiddle with it, wiggle the battery around while screwed into the charger, to get it to charge - and did sometimes have to do what you describe to position it 'just so' to get it to charge. I was super nervous about having backups for everything, so I had a second (backup) that worked fine, no issues. I reported to cignot, and they put a new one in the mail that day!

As has been indicated above, it may not be your battery...you may just have two bum chargers.

As above...... over torquing is a very common issue, as is the dirty connection.

I've found that connecting should be only done with two fingers untill it seats (there's no reason reef torque them, it only has to make contact).

I also wipe connection threads (both ends) with a tissue any time they are separated (this is a must and is considered regular maintenance since we're talking about an electrical connection).

It is quite possible its just a poor/cheap/defective item. Cheaper is NOT always good, and good is definately NOT always cheap.
