Been doing a little research and I think I get the point of these things. More vape, flavor, and TH.

Does this mean I can go with a lower NIC and still get the TH, vape and flavor I am looking for?

I have a Joye Ego.

From what I understand, the dual coil idea is mainly to spread out the heat. Concentrating the heat in a single area tends to burn out the filler. Spreading it out keeps things cooler inside. Plus, you get the added benefit of more contact area, thereby producing more vapor each time.

well my dual coils happen to stink (smoke tech XL LR) however, my single coil cartomizers are awesome ... I think I got a bad batch of dual coils though, because the performance of them is ... umm, nil.
