I'm on Day 2 with my Ego batteries. I'm especially liking the warmer vapor (and looking forward to the delivery of some LR batteries for what I hope is even more of that). I haven't been keeping close track, but I seem to be getting fewer drags per 3-drops than I did with my 510. It may just be that I'm holding down the button longer out of enjoyment. But I'm curious as to whether others found that your juice consumption went up significantly when you switched.

I didn't think just changing to an eGo had much effect on my liquid consumption.
Why would it ? It's basically just a longer-life battery compared to a 510.

However, switching to a LR (1.5 ohm) atty definitely increased my liquid consumption.
I would guess about 50% higher.

BUT, the vapor seems about 200% higher ! No comparison ! This is the finest combo I've ever found, and the battery life, for me, is still over 10 hours. Closest thing to a cigarette taste that I've found ! (Except minus all that tar and the nasty stuff.)

The ego can keep up with the amp draw of the atomizer better than the tiny little 510 batteries can. They may be rated for around 3.7v, but they're really running lower because they can't keep up.

Of course, I may be wrong...Just my understanding of the situation. Perhaps one of the more electrical engineer-ish types around here would be so kind as to ..correct me? lol

Correct. Generally...

It's not the volts- it's the amps in this case.

The 650 mHa battery on the ego just simply drives the atomizer better. There is more current available.

...plus, from what I have heard, the Ego uses pulse technology to start & stop the battery draw many times per second to extend the life of the battery, and in effect, cut the 'full force' on the atty. I know from my experience that my LR attys last longer on an Ego than on a standard 510. In fact, I haven't blown a LR atty on an Ego yet, and I've been using Egos for 3+ months. (Where is that wood to knock? :D) (twss)

As to using more juice, I don't really know, because when I started with my Ego, I also started dripping instead of carts. So, I couldn't tell you if its the dripping or the Ego that is using more juice.
