I had heard that either attys work or don't, But the 510 LR I bought recently just works poorly. I did all of the usual procedures for getting a new atty and it was firing, but very little vapor. It was not gurgling and I know I did not flood it. I thought maybe it would work better after a few days so I kept trying to break it in but no go. I ended up de-bridging it and looking at the coils. The coil was pushed all the way to one side. I moved it over to the middle and now it performs better but still not as good as my regular 510 atty. Anyone else had this happen? It is on an ego 1000 mah battery with the build in passthrough.

It's hard to judge the performance with one atty, there is nothing to compare it with - to see if it's the atty or something else. It might be better to buy a 5-pack, then see how they work.

Also meter it out, an LR should read 1.5 to 1.9 ohms. Set your multimeter to the lowest scale, probably 200 ohms, then touch the probes together. If it reads 0.3 ohms then your overhead is point-three of an ohm, deduct that from the actual reading of the atty. If the atty reads 2.1 ohms then take off the overhead (resistance in the probes most likely) and you get 1.8 ohms.

Unless you have several atties to compare, and a multimeter, it's hard to tell exactly what is going on, if you don't have that much experience.

What brand atty did you buy? I would trust Joye to usually have good quality. Boge might be my second guess for quality. And Cisco. SLB would be lower on my list, and no-name below that.

For cartos, I recommend Boge cartos, the most popular cartomizers.

And as always, LR stuff (like below 2.5 ohms) is not for slim batteries. Only for 450mah+ batteries or mods.

Food for thought = The actual coil wire is NOT always centered in a 510 cup, unlike a CE2 carto, having it run from corner to corner is not unusual as far as the coil wire, as long as it's in the cup that's all that matters and isn't your problem here. What you should do is give this Atty a little boost with some more power, running it on your Ego @ 3.4V just may not be enough oomph for this Atty.

Just because it is ( LR ) doesn't mean it is a 1.5ohm Atty, and most Atty''s are + or - .2 on ohms, so it all depends on the specs of this Atty manufacturer on exactly what ohm and what tolerance they build to, you may have purchased an LR Atty that was specked out at say 1.7ohm but it ended up at 1.9ohm and then your Ego @ 3.4v just isnt enough voltage to make that Atty kick .... and perform to its top performance. I would suggest if you have another Mod with an 18650 IMR Batt you try it on a full charge at 4.2v and see what happens, if you dont have one maybe you have a friend that does. I wouldn't mess with the wire Bridge anymore but just try it at a higher voltage and you may be very surprised at what happens with it's performance ! It's also a great idea to get yourself an inexpensive volt/ohm meter, they can be had for under $10 at DealExtreme and some other places, then you can ohm out your Atty's when they come and know exactly what ohm Atty you have and match it up accordingly to the proper voltages for top performance since you don't have a Variable Voltage mod to work with
