I see a difference between the smaller battery and larger battery models in terms of vaping because you can use low resistance cartos and attys on the big battery models. You definitely notice a difference in terms of vapor, flavor and throat hit using LR cartos.

I expected to see a huge difference but I was disappointed. With the exception of more vapor with the bigger batteries, the 808D, IGo and E-Power are very similar in performance. The throat hit was about the same and the flavor was more muted with the stronger batteries, but still tasty.

I started with V4Ls 808s (bought a second set when my batteries started to wear out) and really like them. I switched to an Ego-T tank system because I wanted a break from constantly minding the fill level in the cartos as I'm saving up for a big tank/higher voltage setup, but the thing that really made the 808s work for me was the usb passthrough included in V4L's starter kit.

Strongly suggest that anyone getting a 510 or 808 starter should choose a set containing or also obtain a sealed usb manual passthrough for use while at the computer and save the batteries for using at other times.

VapingRulz- You are correct, using the same Carto/Atty on an E-Power/808/eGo(and clones) the only really noticeable difference will be battery life, because they produce very similar wattage. However larger capacity batteries (those over 600mAh) have a higher discharge rate (C) and can be safely used with LR (2.0 and Below) and DC (dual coil) equipment without the fear of fubar'ing the battery. The use of these is what can make a big difference in one's vaping experience.

I've been using the Smokeless Image Volt 808 and I was impressed. The draw is near to an analog with good vapor production on 50/50 vg/pg. The stock juice that come with it are all PG and I didn't like them (but that's personal preference). The stock cartos vs boge(?) cartos was a no-brainer for me; the stock SI Volt ones had a better, tighter draw. The boges were too "airy". Like an analog had a hole in it. I like a warmer vape and prefer to simulate the feel of a real cigarette as close as possible. For me, the Volt does it.

Major- I'm in the same boat, but swapped over to box mods, I like to tinker and nothing beats the battery life. I do however keep my 808's around for times when I don't want to worry about carrying anything too bulky, and when traveling because its easier to explain to TSA agents what they are if you have one that's looks store bought to go along with your collection of boxes and batteries.

I'll test that theory as soon as the replacement switch for my E-Power arrives. I have Ressurrectors (1.7ohms) and some yummy Atomic Redhots juice ready and waiting.

You'll enjoy that, I love the Ressurectors with cinnamon and menthol flavors, not so much with coffee and chocolate ones, then end up tasting overcooked, like those last dregs of coffee at the bottom of the pot that's been sitting there for a few hours.

Based on advice from ECF posts, I recently started with a 808 kit from V2cigs that included everything a typical noob would need. It had three batteries (auto and manuals) and even a pass-through. The other sites like V4L have similar kits. It was perfectly adequate for me to get my feet wet and could have been adequate. Unfortunately, my compulsive need for gadgets and inability to pass up on coupon code sales led me to quickly by a Volcano Inferno (510) kit and other goodies.

I guess my advice is to not stress over the choice too much. You will probably buy more types very soon...
