IMO the 510s produce more vapor... but it seems to be a very fine, light vapor

The 901s make a lot of vapor too even at 3.7v, but it seems thicker and denser than the 510. I get a better throat hit off a 901.

Flavor-wise I think the 901 might give a little more flavor, but not too much

If I had to choose between the two I'd probably take both. They both have their place. Although, it seems like a lot of people prefer the 510 over the 901 especially at 5v.

If your going to use a 510 atty, don't use it with the stock 510 battery. The batteries suck and they only put out like 3 or 3.1 volts. Get a 510/901 adapter and use it on a KR808 batt which actually puts out a full 3.7v on a consistent basis.

Best vapor, I use the 510. It is a hotter burning atty. The 901 gives me the best flavor and seems to last a lot longer than the 510, probably because it burns cooler. A third option is the cartomizer. The vape to me is somewhere between the 901 and 510, and it lasts as long as 4 to 6 901 or 510 carts without refilling.

Which atty do you think produces the best vapor/flavor at the same voltage?

510 wins on vapor simply by the math/wattage.

With questions like 'What's the best for flavor?' ... one always has to ask "which flavors?". Some flavors respond well to a warmer vapor and some do not. Some respond to a cooler vapor and some are washed out.

The stronger flavors are enhanced by the 510.

The lighter flavors are enhanced by the 901.

That doesn't mean that the opposites - light flavors on the 510 or strong flavors on the 901 are terrible for all people. That's not the case. Although the loss of taste is more noticeble for some. I notice a considerable loss of taste with my tobacco flavors on a 901 and an enhancement of the fruit/berry flavors with it. It's why I have both, although I tend to go for the 801 over the 901 simply for the cartridge capacity.

Thanks for the replies, the reason I was asking is I just got a new version 905 and I didn't like the vapor production or taste with the 901 atty that came with it. Actually it got a little better vapor production after a few hours but still tasted weak. The same tobacco juice in my 901 produced good vapor and flavor and th. I took a 901 to 510 adaptor and put a 510 atty on it and the vapor production increased slightly but the flavor increased quite a bit and throat hit was there, no throat hit with the 901 atty that came with it. I've noticed a few times it takes a day or 2 for some of my attys to start working properly as far as taste and vapor production. I did blow the new atty out and reprimed with my own juice before using.

I have some 901 atty's that I use for dripping, and I'm happy with the flavor and vapor production. What I don't like is the leakage - I always have to be careful to keep the vent hole pointed upward, and regardless, if I remove the atty and set it down, there's always a little puddle of juice. Do 510's have this problem also? I just ordered a Precise from Super-T, and it will be capable of using either atty, so I am considering ordering a few 510's to try.

No vent hole on the 501 attys that I have and I'm pretty sure they are all that way.:D

I tried 501 attys for the first time last week. Sadly it had a nasty primer on it that I can't seem to get rid of (tried coke bath, boiled water blew it out etc.) I don't know if I have sensitive taste buds or what but I had the same problem with the blue foam/fluval filler. I mostly just drip on 901 attys now, I definitely see the potential with the 501, anyone have any tips on how to clear out the primer I would appreciate it (I have read of people using everclear but I don't know where to get that).

Only leaky problem I ever had with a 510 was using the pyramid tea bag mod. The first verisons of the mod were not as good. There is one where you fold the top -juice holds in the folds and that worked much better.

The 2nd one down:

I use a blue foam plug with a straw mod now. Works fine, no leaks, fill right onto the foam without removing - 35-45 minute vape on a regular 510 flat tip cart.

Thin juice will also leak - Johnson Creeks right after they redid their original juices was thin but that may have changed now - that was a while back.
