Yes, it is removable. Done it with 2 510-T atomizers so far. They come out harder than those of the Ego-T. I couldn't find a suitable instrument to fit in the airduct holes to pull out the plates so I used a bit of a brute force method. I stick a screwdriver in, from the side where the air hole is, not in it but still as close to the base of the needle as a can. Next, I push hard then I push from the opposite side and so on till it loosens. I was afraid that I might deform the atomizer doing that but it didn't happen, they're though ones
Notes:
1. This is a one time operation, after that the plate comes out very easy and
2. The plate of one of my hero atties sometimes comes out with the
tank, when I use regular
tanks and not the XL ones (the XLs become lose fit much faster than the regulars).
3. You'll probably be amazed of the yucky stuff you'll find under the plate (and I thought I cleaned them well

)
4. The "refurbished" atomizers work really well and easier to clean now.
