Sitting here thoroughly enjoying vapeing my 510t, I just decided to order some cartomizers to see if there is any difference good or bad.

Will be a few days before I can decide for myself...so anyone having tried both have an opinion?

The 501t tank system thus far has been flawless. More curious if the carts give a different flavor, or more or less vapor.

Yeah, I second, or third, or fourth....the BOGE cartomizers. They are great...I've used them with every pv I've had for over a year now. They are handy and consistent. Make sure you get the BOGE brand for the regular ones, or Smoketech brand for the dual coil cartos. You owe yourself a try with them, then you will know what you like. I think you'll get more flavor and TH with cartos than you do with the tank set-up.

I am using an e-Power 3.7 v. I just got my first cartomizer yesterday and am loving it! Have already ordered a few boges as well. This one is a dual coil by SmokTech. One bit of advice is do not overfill. Once I got that right, I am loving the flavor more than with the atty and carts, but am keeping those as well so I can swap flavors at will. New ejuices arriving in the mail is now a highlight of my week. LOL

Advice taken folks. Before I started this thread, I had already ordered 1 pack of Boge cartos.

Now that I've remembered my CC# by heart:blush:, I just ordered more, and sprung for quicker shipping!

One thing is, being a new vaper trying to settle in on a few favorite juices, by weeks end I"ll have 20 different flavors in the house. So I guess I'll use the tanks to narrow the juices down since switching flavors in a cart would require cleaning out the cart.

After a few days of comparing the 510T VS the Boge standard carts, for me the tank wins hands down...with the following caveats.

To eliminate leaks and or flooding the atomizer, I've found that the thicker 70/30 PG/VG juices work best for the tank system.

Inside the 510T tank, there is an inner baffle that apparently is there to prevent juice/condensed vapor from reaching the mouthpiece. I find it counter productive. Removing it with a paper clip makes the tank work much better. The draw is easier, and with this inner piece removed, condensation does not become trapped up by the mouthpiece, and simply runs back down the airway where the atomizer burns this small amount of moisture away. This simple little mod makes a big difference in performance.

The 510T low resistance atomizer is clearly superior to the standard atomizer. Now this 2 week old vaper ordered one low resistance atomizer with the original 510T kit to try it out, not realizing that the 180mh batteries nor the 280mh mega 510 are supposed to be incompatible with the low resistance atomizer. Funny thing is, so far I've not managed to kill any of my four batteries, or my lone low resistance atomizer. I like the compactness of the 510 batteries. I have 4 batteries and three chargers (one each at work, truck, and home), and have no trouble having a charged battery available. But I suppose I should just go ahead and get the larger Ego batteries since if I stick with the tank system, the low resistance is the better vape.

What I don't like about the carts is I simply can't get much of a hit out of them without sucking my brains out. I do like the lower maintenance, taste, and the fact that the juice seems to last longer. Now it may just be the way I hit em, since the carts offer much less restriction to the draw. I find I almost have to inhale as I draw. or double hit on the cart rather than pull in a mouthful then inhale as one would do with an analog, and have no problem doing with the tank atty.

With all that said, any responses to the following questions is much appreciated.

1) Cartos seem to be the system of choice for most. So what am I missing here?

2) Will a low resistance atty really kill the undersized 510 battery's? Guess I'll find out LOL

3) I know the Ego rapid charger can't be used with 510 batteries, but can I use the 510 battery chargers I have with an Ego battery if I break down and buy one?

4) Maybe the low resistance Ego dual carts would give the extra hit I'm missing with the standard Boge atty's?

5) Twenty different juices in the house. I've found several I like, but none that duplicates the juice that Njoy uses. I really need to find something close to the Njoy juice so I can stop buying those pre-filled carts for the spousal unit. Any ideas?

Thanks for looking!

I think you meant that cartos are the system of choice. A lot of us gave up on the carts and moved to cartomizers just because their easier to use and cheaper than atties.

2) Will a low resistance atty really kill the undersized 510 battery's? Guess I'll find out LOL

A LR attie can kill the switch in batteries that are below 450mAh. It's a risk that you should be willing to take. If it works for you, then use them!

3) I know the Ego rapid charger can't be used with 510 batteries, but can I use the 510 battery chargers I have with an Ego battery if I break down and buy one?

You can use the the 510 charger with the eGo batteries, but it'll take a very long time to charge them. I would just use the charger for the eGo and save yourself the frustration.

4) Maybe the low resistance Ego dual carts would give the extra hit I'm missing with the standard Boge atty's?

LR and Dual Coil Cartos (DCC's) work excellently with the eGo batteries. You'll get a warmer vapor and more vapor production. The caveat is that you'll go through juice faster because of the heat produced by these.

This is something you'll have to experiment with, so try some different vendors. We can only suggest flavors, but what you like is really going to depend on you.

I hope this helps!

Thanks so much for the reply.

Yes, I meant cartos, and have edited my post to fix that.

Think I am going to try out the Ego just so I can give the Mega Dual Carto's a whirl.

Makes sense that the switch would be the weak link. As you said, no biggie risking a $10 battery.

FWIW, one of my batteries is an auto, and I haven't managed to kill it yet either.

I'm sure njoy uses chinese juice. Most prefilled cartos are. Check out a vendor that sells dekang juice. See if she might like one of those. They probably do it on purpose. Make a juice that people seem to like just available in prefilled cartos so people will buy the carto.

Has she tried other juices and can she pinpoint what might be missing from them that the prefilled have? You might be able to mix some juices together- say add a touch of vanilla or cocoa.

I juice chased for my mom who loved the juice in a prefilled carto too. Never could find it but she now really likes the tobacco juices from Backwood Brew. She started with their 555 and Virginia. Now she vapes Casablanca pretty much exclusively.

You're probably right in that the prefilled carto's are using an exclusive blend from China. I have quite a few Dekang tobacco juices, and of those the only one she kinda likes is T5. Problem here is 100%PG tends to leak with my tank system.

But you did give me an idea. Think I'll mix in a little vanilla with the T5 and put it in a carto. I also suspect that maybe almond might be something to try in a blend. I'll have to get to work on what my wife calls my "chemistry set".

Closest I've found so far to my taste is want2 vape's Red Pirate. Very nice straight tobacco flavor.

First Q would be what voltage are you using? Second would be what resistance 510-T.
These things do make a difference. Just like they will make a difference with a carto.
Impossible to suggest a carto without knowing what you plan to use it on.

BTW, right now I am dripping with a LR 510-T atty (with the wick plate removed) at 3.3v, (eGo) and it's performance is right up there with a LR 306 or any of the other hotrod atties.
