With all the failed investments I've been on the forums for quite awhile and I know my ideal pv and which atomizers to get but I'm still looking for one for my gf. We currently vape with drip tips and I have no issues with but she does cause she coughs constantly since they are 306 LR attys (1.5 and 2.0). She's tried different ways on her draw but still coughs.

I thought of getting the 510 tank system for her cause the throat hit would be less harsh than the LR attys. I shopped around and thought of getting the 510 tank atomizer from Avid Vaper. She vapes a 70/30 mix and I'm wondering if it'll work well with a standard 510 tank atomizer. I thought of getting the LR tank atomizer but she doesn't do well with LR attys. So fellow vapers I need your advice on this purchase before she kills me :(

I think it is probably the throat hit that makes her cough. If she used mostly vg instead of pg then it might help. I started with the 510t but moved onto something else soon after I got it. Not very satisfying to me. Wanted more of a throat hit but it might just work for her. Might try new e liquid ratio first though. Much cheaper that way

I am also a person who gets an irritated throat sometimes and cough. I would say the 510-t or ego-t would be a good option for her. I never have any throat issues (except dry throat if I don't drink water, of course) with the tank attys. While I understand the taste issues people complain about, I don't see it myself. Sure, my home setup of Darwin, 306DCA/306 and vapemate tastes better, but not so much that I would forsake the convenience of the tank atty when I am on the go.

Personally, what has been my best solution to this issue is variable voltage. If my throat is getting irritated, I just lower the voltage (heat of vapor), which seems to do the trick. Keep her away from DC or triple coil cartos, or any cartos with pollyfill IMO. These can trigger my throat issues the worst and I would not use them if I didn't have heat control.

I wouldn't recommend the 510-t nor the ego-t due to it's price and the longevity of it. I also noticed the 510-t gets hot very quickly and the draw stiffens up quite a lot so you would be better off with an ego-t if you had to choose between the 2. you would be better off with a cartomizer in my opinion but that's just an opinion. i'm sure the LR is the main cause of it. get her some standard resistance stuff then she should be fine. Also, if both of you are using a passthrough, wouldn't you both be vaping at 5v? With a LR atty at 5v, that would be enough to choke people out! If you want to buy a kit. go with the ego-t kit or the KGo kit. at least if the atty is not to her liking, you can pick up some different attys or cartos to satisfy her. :vapor:

Not all passthroughs are 5 volt.
