so...i chose the KR over the 510 based on 2 things. The battery life on the KR808D-1 is fantastic , beats the 510 hands down. That and ( i know i sound like a broken record on this one ) but the 510 atomizer gets way to hot for me , uncomfortably hot. after 5 drags i have to put it down for at least 5 min for it to cool back down.

wow, is it really this lopsided?

For now. It will likely become more lopsided. I found out that the secret to good vaping -- really good satisfying no longer want an analog vaping -- is the nicotine density. Many here that feel the need to crank 5-10 hard vapes a minute aren't satisfied. Many here that feel the need to blow mountains of vapor aren't satisfied. So what are they doing wrong? They are vaping a nicotine content that is too low for their system. Their bodies want more nic - not more vape. Vaping is fun, but don't confuse that with getting your nicotine habit completely taken care of. That is what this is all about. An alternative to analogs. If you aren't getting it, then you won't. If you are vaping an 18mg VK like a freight train, you likely aren't satisfying your cravings. If you are moderately vaping a 510 with 36mg juice, your atty will thank you, your pocketbook will thank you, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, your body will thank you.

Just MHO.:)

I chose the 808 tentatively. Only because Im waiting to see if the 808 batteries die due to juice gumming them up like all other batteries except the 510 do.

So far what impresses me most with the 808 is the fact that im not worried about maintaining an atomizer. When it dies it is ok because they are supposed to die.

With my 510 I am always worrying about my atomizer life span, and also worrying about it going weak. With the 808 it goes weak after a few days but thats ok because they are dirt cheap.

probably 1.5 to 2 is realistic, but I just got 40 from cigeasy.com. Prior to that I rotated between 2 for 2 weeks dripping 16mg janty juice. One died about 3 days ago. The amount of juice you can put in slows down after a couple refills so I had to put in 10 drops or so about twice a day compared to 20 drops or so once a day at first. So I figure I could probably make my 40 new cartomizers for $85 bucks last a year refilling. Realistically though, I'll probably vacillate between using fresh carts and refilling. But I'll hang onto all the working carts. It's nice to have an unlimited atomizer supply. If the new mint cartomizers wern't so tasty, I'd probably stick to refilling every cart until it died. I haven't found a juice that matches it, although I'd like to.

My dura-c works pretty well, I just get tired of refilling every hour or so and switching batteries all the time. It does look pretty slick though.

I love my KR808 for the taste, vapor and convenience. So far nothing else comes close. Drew has the carts at his nhaler store for 8 bucks a 5 pack and great service.

The problem is that well before they taste burnt, the wick and filler ARE melted and burned. I don't want to smoke that!

See this thread, if you haven't already.

I'm looking forward to getting some of Drew's Green Tech cartomizers, which have had very promising reviews - they don't appear to burn and work with KR808 batteries.

I like to restuff my carts every two or three days because the stuffing gets stale/rank. How do you restuff the VK carts?
I have not attempted to restuff a cart.

I have a VK, and I have found that washing them help a lot.

I take a bent wire that I made out of some scrap.

Insert it on the mouthpiece end of the cart.

Pull out the hard plastic mouth piece, and the rubber insert.

Then you run hot water through it for about 30 seconds or so. Basically until the stuffing looks nice and clean.

I then use an air compress, set to 5 PSI, and blow all of the water out.
CAUTION: Make sure it is compressed air. DO NOT USE a can of 'dry' air, computer cleaner, etc.
Most of those are NOT air, they are various chemicals that are rather bad for you!
So read those labels before you use any of those.

After that just refill it, put the inserts back, and you are GTG.

Wow I never thought about washing them. I use mine as a back up or when I want something different. I try to keep them topped off with 4-5 drops in the battery end after a bit of vaping.

Do the cartomizers from Drew's fit on the VaporKing battery?

When i clean my cartomizer' I cut off the end of the rubber boot that covers the cartomizer, attach to a turkey baster, fill hot water in a cup attach the other end to the mouth piece and suck the hot water through 3 times. than reverse the cartomizer and using the turkey baster blow out the cartomizer several times than top it off with 1/2 mil of liquid in the mouth piece side than 1/4 mil from the batt side let set for 15 sec lightly blow excess out you are ready to vape. at first few puffs will dry out the coil. I have cartomizers that I have reused for over 1 month. and I also use 510 carts with my kr808d1.
