Ok, now I've heard the 510 batteries can be crappy, but I guess I assumed they meant as far as battery life.. I had gotten an adapter and 808 cartos to try on my 510 and I noticed the vapor is really light- not as dense and sorta "creamy" I guess I could describe it..? Also the flavor isn't really very good for this juice. I'm trying to figure out if it's the blank cartomizer I ordered or is the 510 battery not quite strong enough for the cartomizer. However, we also do have an e9 kit. I noticed the blank 808 cartomizers I bought has a different sort of batting than the e9 cartos my husband has- his looks more like a smoother batting, while my 808 carto filling looks to be more of a "looser" fiber poly batting- I'm able to compare and say that the 510 with the 808 carter is really bad compared to our e9 is why I'm wondering if it's the particular carto I ordered, or is that just the way the kr808 is? I also tried my 808 carto on my husband's e9 battery- it doesn't exactly fit perfectly, but the threads do line up and it kinda works- but the same not so good output as on my 510 battery. (but is that because it doesn't line up perfectly and battery not connecting all the way or something?) I was hoping someone more experienced might be able to help me shine a light on this before or instead of buying an entire kr808 starter kit to figure this out! :)

Have you set the 808 adapter according to how you want to vape? You can turn the screw in or out, increasing or decreasing the drag on the carto.

I've also bought cartos (blank) from the same supplier and had them act differently. I don't know if it's the different juices I put in them, or just QC.

I just threw out a blank carto because the battery hole was barely there, and it wouldn't vape at all. Defective.

I'm currently using cartos on a Chuck.

Yup- I've fiddled with the tightness of the adapter. I just ordered some cartos from a different vendor just in case - wish me luck! It'd be really awesome if I could get this to work for me! Some days I absolutely LOVE my 510, others I kick myself pretty bad for giving my husband my e9 kit because i get tired of fiddling with the 510 when she gets in her "moods"! So if this works- it'd be really perfect! :D

Because the 510 batts only put out about 3.1V you will not get the output that you would get on the kr8 batts. Actually if you get a couple of kr8 batts and you get a kr8 to 510 atty adapter you will also see better output from your 510 attys on the kr8 batts.

Hehe, ok- I think I'm sold on the kr8 batts either way now...

:D My goodness... My husband is going to curse the day I found this forum... All the nice & creative people here just fueling this- I don't wanna know how many different pv's I'm going to wind up with by the time I'm done... Let alone all the different juices I already have... Oh yeah- I'm in trouble!

Or ok- here's an easier one for those that may not have tried this setup. Are the kr808 cartomizers from different suppliers sometimes way better or worse from one supplier compared to another perhaps?

There's a huge difference in cartomizers in general. In my experience, the one's I got from vaporking.com, greencig, puresmoker have a definite 'underflavor' (not pleasant) in every flavor I tried - a good selection from each. However, they are pretty consistent on length of time 2-3 hours + and the vapor is consistent - good but not like a 510 atty + cart. Vapor4Life has many good flavors that don't have the underflavor, but the vapor and length of time varies greatly and it seems to be flavor related - caramel mocha frap., cognac, french pipe just to name a few, have good vapor and good length 2-3 hours (heavy vaping) whereas newport, cuban cigar (a good flavor, imo)
have super mini type vapor and if you get more than 45 minutes from the newports (and virginias) you're doing good.

I should note that some people don't taste the underflavor - some taste it on every cartos from the ones listed above. I have run them from the KR8 and the 510 (I never experienced the noted voltage drop) and on 510 mods and a 5v mod. 5V is the best way to get the most vapor but again, not as much as say a Bartleby mod or Tornado with a 510 atty.

After my experimenting with cartos as a possibilty I'm pretty much done with them except for using blanks with my favorite ejuices and only for travel situations. I wouldn't cut my vapor production for the so called 'convenience' around the home where topping off is as natural as lighting up a cigarette. That said, some people are 'busier' than I and find it more convenient to use cartos. That... I understand.
