Yeah--there is definitely something else in there.

I got some 555 concentrate, and it tastes *exactly* like the stuff I mixed up with peanut butter and tobacco flavor. Good, but not right.

I ordered some hazelnut flavoring, because when I first tasted 555 I thought it had a hint of Frangelica in there. If it helps, I will let you know, 5card.

The first 555 I had was from Puresmoker, and I thought it had an almond taste. I thought it tasted musty and didn't like 555 until I tried the My Freedom Smokes version.

There's a bottle of LorAnn Black Walnut in my flavors collection and I've been thinking of trying that for a 555 recipe.

Something like:

80% PG / 20% VG base
5% FA Maxboro Ultimate
1% FA Perique Black
2% LorAnn Black Walnut

I'd give it at least a couple of weeks to mellow before delivering a verdict on taste.

Walnut, eh? Hmmm...

That might explain some strange-tasting 555 I got and couldn't figure out why it tasted so different to me!

It is definitely a nutty taste--surely we will figure it out.

I found some 0nic hazelnut I had gotten from Ms T and added a couple of drops to the tobacco/peanut butter mix I had previously made, and the combination of peanut butter and hazelnut is definitely closer to what I was aiming at. but still not right. I don't have any walnut, but I do have some pecan...

Maybe it is a "Mixed nuts" flavor. Anyone have Brazil nut flavoring? :D

Thanks, itzdoja! I already have some pre-mixed 555 flavoring--what I am trying to determine is the individual components to make it myself.

FWIW, I just mixed up all the nut flavorings I have (Uh...peanut butter, hazelnut, pecan, vanilla butternut and amaretto) with some flue-cured flavoring and a little bit of Seedman's to take the "green" off the tobacco taste. It needs to sit a while for the flavors to meld, but right off it tastes pretty good. Not 555, but a lot closer. Needs a lot more of the peanut butter, I think.

Okay, the last try was pretty bad--well, not bad, but not 555-ish. The amaretto made it sweet:glare:

Trying another just to get a better idea: equal parts DK tobacco flavor--with 1 drop of Seedman's fire-cured flavoring (not the concentrate--I ordered the wrong thing, but I still have to work through it) for each 5 drops of tob flavor, peaunut butter flavor and hazelnut flavor.

I know the flavors change, but I tried this right after mixing, and so far it is the closest to 555 I have gotten.

I taste a caramel in the background.....just adding my 2 cents.......I will take the above from kcr and add a bit of caramel...oh sheet.....no fire cured here.....ACK!
off to order
555 saved my PV lovin .......was a menthol smoker and hated menthol e-liquids....555 was just right throat hit...and the rest is 2 years free of analogs!
Would love a recipe to emulate that wonderful winning flavor

Thats what we're looking for is everones 2cents until it adds up to 555. One thing I found is the peanut butter gets faint after adding it to tobacco flavor. I wished I had V4L 555 ingredients.

ahhh. The search for a good DIY 555 has been a never ending one for me. Ive tried Tobacco absolute/Seedmans mix with various amounts of the following ( not all together ) peanut butter, toasted almond, vanilla butternut, hazelnut, chocolate, caramel, cotton candy and I still have not come up with it.

Nicotime has a close recipe and it can be found somewhere in this forum.

Well, not until the Search feature is restored. Apparently the site upgrade upset its stomach. But I will search for that--thanks!

I ill mix up some small batches with a bit of caramel and a bit of chocolate and let those sit for a week. Maybe a bit of tobacco absolute, too?

I seem to have about three different "versions" of 555 in my purchases. The one I prefer has a savoriness to it with no sweetness at all. Any idea how to do that?

Here's something I mixed up yesterday:

10%....FA Camtel
1.5%...FA Perique Black
5%......Lorann Black Walnut
1 drop..FA Oak Wood

Base is 70% PG / 30% VG, total volume is 6ml.

It's still young of course, mild and tastes okay, but isn't close to 555 and still needs something. Cocoa and coffee?

The Black Walnut goes well with the tobacco but has a signature 'twang', so, next time I'll use less of it and add some peanut or hazelnut.
