Try disconnecting the black wire from the atomizer to the regulator. Run the black from the atomizer to the negative battery connection. Also run black wire from the center pin of the regulator to the negative battery connection. I don't know if that's an alternate, workable wiring scheme, but it's not how I have mine hooked up.

Red wire:
Between positive battery connection and switch
Between switch and Vin on the regulator
Between Vout on the regulator and center pin of atomizer

Black wire:
Between ground on the regulator and negative battery connection
Between outer ring of the atomizer and negative battery connection

Mine has a couple of Extra Switches and wires...But its a 5v nicostick

Morning all, I notice the "spdt switch" in the diagram,
Is there a way to eliminate this switch, and use 2 batteries, 5v v-reg, main on/off switch and tactile button?

I've been looking everywhere, and this is the closest thing with a 5v voltage regulator with a diagram.

Thanks all... Modding is great fun!
I love it! - Even if I don't make ALL the mods in here, there are some great innovative ideas here!

The SPDT switch in his diagram looks like it allows him to run off 1 battery alone when he wants to use 3.7v. Use the wiring in post 51 to get straight 5V. Batteries in series (positive of batt one to negative of batt 2). Negative of batt one to atty and center post of regulator. Positive of batt two to spst switch (your main on/off), output to momentary switch, output of momentary switch to regulator, output of regulator to center conductor of atty connector. Make sure everything is rated for at least 1.5A, or add a mosfet to trigger for lower amperage switches. You can probably get by with lighter rated switches temporarily, but eventually the contacts inside will go bad.
