After using for a couple days I have now run into a big issue. At first it wouldn't run with my older 510 attys (ones that came with my joye 510) but it would work with the Bauway atomizers I bought new from madvapes. But today after I got off work my mod decided to stop working with the bauway's and start working with my old 510 attys! AHHHhhh I'm so confused why is this? I always keep the batts charged and it seems to almost have a mind of its own.

I have a multimeter is there anything I can verify to narrow down the problem?

Now I`m no atomizer expert but here is what I think.

I have had a few atomizers that I`m not sure where from but worked fine only on 3.7 volts and did this same thing to my 5 volt as you mention.
Rocky Mountain Vapor atomizers have worked fine for my 5 volt.. Just do they have them in stock? they are pretty fast on shipping if so.

$8 a atty
Rocky Mountain Vapor you have reached the mountain top of electronic cigarettes!

And Heavens gifts I have good luck with but long shipping
Spare parts - Wholesale & Retail Best E-smoking Supplier

If you order from Heaven gifts and plan on making more mods get some battery/atty connectors they sell some great ones the only type I use and never had a problem one with.

I think you have it nailed with this being a atomizer issue here.

Are you using MadVapes 5V regulator?

I am using Madvapes 5v regulator. It is now D-day none of my attys work with it. They work on my Joye 510 but its not doing it for me for throat hit. I can't feel anything at all. :( I'm going to have a nic fit now. :....(

Back to analogs until I get my hands on another 5v mod.

In case you want to try and help me this is the setup I used. I have a very strong feeling the batteries protection are tripping but it only use to do it for the Bauway attys now its doing it to my joye attys as well. Turns on for about 3 seconds then off. Going to go outside and smoke a cigarette in memory of my first mod dying completely. :( :.:)frown::blink:

Okay after smoking an analog (which reminded me how bad they taste YUCK!) I decided to pull up my pants and take it apart to figure out what might be the issue... I found nothing visually but decided to resolder and also use a knife to scrape fairly hard on the lines in between each channel to ensure that if there is a wire or solder there it gets cut... I resoldered the positive and negative on the atty and KABOOM it is sizzling again.

What I've learned from all of this is that even though you may THINK you have soldered it right and it looks like it is done correctly without anything laying over on the other channels... you should do rework if its not acting right. Now all my attys work and I'm vaping at 5v again.'

Also box mods are not easy to diagnose but you can attribute a large reason for my failure due to OVER soldering. It was very hard to keep it on one track because I used so much solder. When I resoldered I used a "scrape" method to even out the bulbs I had on some points and it looks 100% better.

Glad you got it working again. Yes those regulators are hard to check if possible at all. I always just for the pure having it run my dental pick up and down those rows after I finish one. and a magnifying glass as well. Sometimes it`s something hidden even. I had one that looked fine but pin 2 must not have been connected under that solder real well. After a touch on all the solder points again it worked fine.

Those boards are nice but easy to get to much solder on. I`ve since moved to a finer soldering tip which helps do those. Pointy is good.

Again good job on solving the trouble. :thumb:
