5v usb passthrough

Hey guys I've been vaping for around a month now after a buddy got me into it with a crappy battery he had. Now I vape at least 5 hours a day maybe not constantly but I do vape a ton. The reason being is I'm used to smoking medicinal herb. So this helps me to space out how much herb I smoke a day. Anyway I have a crappy battery that came with my maraxus mod and it dies very quickly. I have been looking at sony vtc4s and vtc5s but can't afford them at this moment. Cheapest I found a sony vtc4 is $13 on ebay w/ free shipping. So I've been trying to make a 5v passthrough for this mech mod and I haven't had any luck so far. I know I'm doing something wrong but I do plumbing so electricity isn't really my thing. I cut the end of the cord off and have the red(positive) and black(negative) seperated. I touch the positive to the atty and the negative to the button and it doesn't fire. I have the usb cable connected to a samsung galaxy s4 battery charger box. It has 2amps and the usb reads 5.1v on my multimeter so I used the ohms law calculator and found you have to use a 2.55ohms coil with it. So I used my 24 gauge kanthal wire and made a 14 wrap macro coil that seems to read over 2.55ohms on my multimeter. I still cannot get it to fire however. So here I am hoping someone here knows what my dumbass is doing wrong with this passthrough. Glad to be a part of this forum and hope you guys enjoy reading my noob post. :toast:

Hello and welcome. From ohms law your pushing 2amps like you said. I would find some 28 guage and try and hit 3.0 to see if the ohms are higher your load is less them 2.

3 ohms looks like 1.7 might be better. Hope others have a thought on getting a direct passthrough built.

oh yeah red to bottom and black to the sides. Reverse your connections.
