6 batteries in 6 months

Hi all:

Been vaping for 6 months. I use E-GO 650 and 900 mAH batteries. Since starting I've been using them with Boge 3.0 ohm standard cartomizers, until a couple of weeks ago when I switched to an ego Vision Clearomizer.

My problem is this....in 6 months, I'm now on my 6th battery. My last one died while using the clearomizer. They just seem to keep dying with no rhyme or reason. It's not always my oldest one either. It seems from the digging around on the forum I've been doing that this is an exceptionally short life for these batteries.

Generally, I keep 2 batteries that I rotate. I put one in the charger at night and when I leave the house in the morning, I swap out the old one for the freshly charged one. The next morning, I repeat the process. Seems pretty simple to me. I'm not a heavy vaper and keep the contacts clean.

Am I doing something obviously wrong here?

I have some ego batterys that have lasted me a few years, I think you may be doing something wrong, or getting fake products.
Some key pointers when it comes to charging batteries:
Do not let the charge over night, over charging is bad.
make sure the atty/carto is fully connected, there should be no gap between the battery and atty/carto.

Also keep in mind, it may not be the battery thats goin bad on you, but the switch, make sure you keep the button area clean and dry.

Did I miss anything?
(correct me if i'm wrong, but isnt 3ohm for high voltage vaping?)

It could be a couple of things. Firstly, I use 3.0 ohm cartos at 5 volts. I think for an ego you need to be somewhere in the 1.7-2.0 ohm range. The higher ohm cartos could be playing havoc on your batteries. Secondly, you NEVER charge a battery overnight! And NEVER when you are away from home. As soon as the battery is charged (Showing green) you need to unplug it. If you can't do this, I suggest you put your charger on a timer, so after a certain time period, it automatically turns off.

Thanks for the quick responses. from the sounds of it, and the fact that I'm no longer using a cartomizer but a clearomizer at 2.1-2.4 ohms, I'm guessing that it's probably an overcharging issue. Supplier is very very reputable so I'm not questioning quality...figured it was an "operator error". I'll try shorter charging times and see if they keep dying.

Many reasons: will try to give you a few hint´s or what´s called ?
When you screw on Charger/devise (catroes etc.) you tend to put it on TOO thight! (making shure it´s in and FIRMLY thigt)
Don´t!
I asume that it´s all clean and NO liqids or so in any part! Wipe with kitchen towel or any other paper device that feels handy and good! Buds are also fine to use .. if you like!
Rising the centerpole is an bit more difficult .. yet an easy operation also!.. less. than 20 sek..
You need to rise the centerpole.. ( positive+ connection apx. 1-2 mm) thicknes of an nail is best describtion I can give..
DO not find anything an PULL.. but Work your way all the way around the side with an small pointed device while you slightly push it to the center as you move it slowly at the same time ! No muscle or so needed here.. just an gentle "womans touch" not more. and it can be repeated.. as many times you feel !
Originals and Klones are suffering from the same problem as the center pole is pushed Down into the device and Loose conection then!
Hope it can help you.!
Best wishes

Two things with these batts.

1st you do not charge them overnight or while you are at work. Overnight or all day charging over charges them - most chargers continue a trickle charge once a batt is fully charged - this shortens the life of the batt. So take them off when they are finished - at least shortly there after. Start charging it when you get home and take it off before you go to bed at a minimum.

2nd you do not start vaping with one right off of the charger - fresh off a charger the batt is hot (let's just call it that) - let it sit for an hour at least - avoiding the technical aspects of the reason for this - it is just a good thing to do...
