60 watt coil with 30 watt battery?

How does this work? If I have the new kanger occ 15-60watt coils and an I stick 30 watt, can I run it at 30 watts and be okay? I don't understand about the higher coil wattage with the lower battery wattage. Like if I also have a cool fire iv rated at 40 watts with the 15-60 watt coil, will the coil last longer if I have it at like 30 watts? Because the coil isn't using so much wattage about half the wattage from what it can take. Does that make any sense?

Welcome to ECF!
That particular coil's recommended operating range is between 15 and 60 watts. Somewhere within that range you should be able to get the vape you like. Start out toward the lower end and gradually increase the wattage of your device between puffs until it tastes good to you.
Coil life depends on several things including the total power being put through it. Staying toward the middle of the recommended range is certainly not a bad idea. The biggest factor in coil life is the type of juice being used. The thick, sweet, creamy dessert-type juices will kill a coil more quickly than one that's clearer and less sweet.
Hope this helped.

First, the 15-60 watt range is just a suggestion. You don't need to run it at 60 watts in order to vape with it, it's just designed (theoretically) to be able to withstand vaping at 60 watts. You may very well find yourself perfectly happy at 20 watts, even.

And yes, it makes sense, and the coil should last longer at lower power settings.

In a nutshell, crud on the coil is the killer. The higher your power settings, the more e-liquid you'll consume, and the more crud will get deposited on the coil in a shorter period of time.

Thanks guys:) didn't know people were crazy and up like me right now lol. So if I have a cool Fire iv(40watt) with a 15-60 coil watt running at around 30-35, the coil will last longer because it's using less power correct? Because I'm only using about half what it can take right? But since I towards the high end of the wattage on the cool Fire iv, the battery life will be shorter?

Yes, to both of your assumptions.

Happy vaping!

Why do people use such high wattage mods? I don't understand that, it's making me up my game lol. Jk not yet that is, but what do higher wattage battery's do? Should I buy a battery that is 60 watts because I have a 15-60 watt coil? Any good recommendations? Higher wattage battery would do what?
Generally, more power can equal a warmer vape, more clouds, and more/better flavor (depending on build).

And whether or not you should is entirely up to you and your budget. The good thing about having a higher powered mod is that it gives you more flexibility should you want to up your power. I'm sitting here right now with a 70 watt device, running at 33 watts. But if I want more (power, heat, vapor) it's just a few clicks away.

As to recommendation, even though there's a lot of 100+ watt devices out (and the new DNA200 that's on my wish list) as I posted in your other thread, I have no problems suggesting the MVP Pro 3, at 60 watts max.

Why do people EVER favor different things?
You NEED higher wattage to make certain devices work as intended like low ohm RDAs made from really thick wire.
Don't let the numbers fool you, what you need to use depends ONLY from what YOU personally feel like needing.
OT THIS is the reason there NEVER should be watts or volts, just a graph that goes up or down when hitting the button UP or DOWN.
Granted, there are the saferyissues, but by now the mods should be up to task of NOT letting beginers damage their devices.

    howdy - and welcome

if you are referring to the .5 ohm vertical coil (most times, coils are referred to by their ohm rating, keeps thing simpler), I tend to run that coil at about 35 watts, most of the time, depending on the juice I am using (some juices, their 'sweet spot' for me is a little lower - around 32 watts) - and the coil life will not only depend on power it is run at, will also depend on juice used - sweeter, darker juices will tend to gunk up a coil faster, shortening its lifespan...
