8 weeks of freedom today for a semi-newb

I've been lurking for several weeks and thought I would become a member of the ECF family. Here's my story: 8 weeks ago I walked into a co-workers office and three people had these funny looking pens in their mouth and were blowing out smoke. I inquired about what they were doing. They opened me up to the world of vaping. I was of course a little skeptical. One of them had been smoking for 35 + years and said he hadn't touched an analog in 6 weeks. I was definitely interested at that point. I was a PAD smoker for 15 years. I hadn't even thought about quitting any time soon. After work that very afternoon I went to a B&M shop down the street. They set me up with an EGO starter kit. I smoked an analog on the way to the store not realizing that was my last one ever. It has been awesome and very easy for me. Unfortunately (not really) I now have a new hobby. I really enjoy vaping and buying new hardware, not much of a juice junky but enjoy the only flavor I have ever liked (standard tobacco) every other one that I have tried just tastes like perfume after a few minutes. I'm fine with what I have. You people on this site entertain me more than you know. I spend almost every evening on here. Thanks for everything.

Great story. Congrats on quitting the smokes!

I've had some flavors come off tasting perfume-like, yuck. They're not all like that. Hope you find some more flavors you like, just to keep it interesting. A little change now and then is nice.

Welcome and congrats! On only liking one flavor - hey, it's great you found ONE that keeps you off the stinkies! I have a ton of flavors now but only one I really really like. But it keeps it interesting for me to try new ones.

Similar to JWLuke, I went to my favorite tobacco store, bought a carton of analogs, then bought start up kit Total Vapor (made by EGO). That was 3 wks ago. 9 pks still in carton in my freezer, half opened pk in garbage. Other half of pk was smoked b4 I got the hang of vaping. I really need to do something with the frozen analogs. Seems I need to have a farewell party, something symbolic maybe.

Way to go on quitting smoking....I am a juice junkie and found I really dislike the tobacco vapes, my preference is in coffees/teas/deserts and recently flower/herb vapes(4 tanks going at all times). My father who got a setup after I did however found he really liked the plain vanilla our local B&M sells and doesnt want any other flavors...so to each there own ...welcome

Thanks for all the replies. I have a full pack and a half pack. I will probably hang on to them just as a nasty reminder of how things used to be. I never plan on going back. It does not bother me to be around smokers at all. At work I go outside with them while they smoke and I vape. A few of them have tried but didn't stick with it. I just buy their start ups and add to my collection. I just returned from my B&M with a new flavor. Going out on a limb and getting brave. It was Maple Rum Tobacco, not bad at all. I will see how it goes. Thanks again for all the support. You guys touch more lives than you will ever know.
