I have used 901 & 501 atomisers but keep seeing 801 and 306 atomisers being advertised.

I haven't used 801's but I really liked the LR 306 atties. They are really good for dripping as they have a more exposed bridge.
Are you asking about LR attys for EGo/Riva etc? Or standard for slim batteries?
I've never tried an 801 atty nor any LR attys. I sometimes use a standard resistance Joye 306 atty on my 510 - it's a tiny atty, no tube, external bridge. Its 306 carts (w/ small push-up juice cup) go over the atty. I put blue foam in the cart and leave it on the atty for a spare flavor I can pick up like a carto (306 atty + cart is same size as a standard 510 carto). I use a 306 drip tip on it and love dripping on it - lots of vapor, no long tube splattered with old aromas. A 306 drip tip slides over the atty body - my plastic 306 drip tip doesn't fit on very far without forcing so I don't force it - so it doesn't look great but works well.
