I tend to agree with Unforeseen's comments. Did you self-punch the Fusion carto or did you get the Punched! version?
You might need to slightly alter your vaping technique with a carto tank. Slow steady puffs work best, no hard fast pulls which can cause too much liquid to be pulled into the carto resulting in flooding. The opposite can also be true; dry hits can be caused from inadequate carto priming or inadequate juice flow to the carto from the tank -- primer puffs (pulffing without using the power button) can pull additional juice into the carto without burning the carto's polyfill.
I've done away with punching my own carto's, too hit-or-miss for me. Too much human error involved, plus the cartopunch tools always end up distorting the shape of the carto which with some tank's endcaps can make inserting the distorted carto a pain and possibly damaging the o-rings. I use only laser-drilled carto's now and have had zero issues with adequate juice wicking. One hole for 50/50 pg/vg juices; two hole for any juice ratio with over 60% vg.
I also read on the Ikenvape supplier sub-forum that Isaic recommended only the silver adaptors if gotten from another site than his own. The gold ones don't work. I think I got my adaptor from Mad Vapes.
I've only tried one 801 Fusion carto (with a silver 510-801 adaptor). I was pretty disappointed. It had a very harsh vape. I did check the ohm on the Provari and it checked out fine. I'm hoping it was just a bad carto. I haven't gotten around to trying any of the others yet.
