801 fusion weird taste

so i just got my ikenvape 801 fusions and platinum 510's and i wanted to try the fusions first so i put some cinnamon roll from mbv in it and it was a great vape. after about 10 puffs i started to get this weird vegetable taste. i taste it on the exhale and its disgusting. any ideas what could cause this?

I have probably used more fusions than anybody on ECF and have never had that happen. I did however get a weird taste on another carto once and it was in my whole tank of juice. I cleaned it out and put another carto in without experiencing it any more. It only happened on one carto out of the many I have used. I never did know what it was.

Sometimes some carto's have a primer in them that will give an odd taste the first few hits. It's not a common thing, but I have experienced it from other vendors before.
Also, did you get it from Issac directly, or someone else? He stated some of the people he's supplied to don't store them properly and they will dry out if not cared for properly.

Mine was tanked too and although it wasn't a fusion at first I thought my juice had gone bad. I tried another but had to toss the juice in the tank before filling it. The rest I had were fine. It's hard to say what it is but I'm thinking it might be the first one in a run and the machine had some primer on it but that's just a guess.

If you try another one put around 15 to 20 drops in it and try it before you tank it so you don't waste a tankful of juice. Just give it a couple puffs before.

Just laid into a 510 fusion like this, that's about as bad as I've ever had one! Man! I'm still trying to get that taste out of my mouth! I understand exactly where you were coming from now! Nothing I did cleared it out, I tried pumping more in with a syringe, sucking without firing, NOPE!
Sorry you went through that, trust me, I'm VERY sympathetic now!

I had a Mega that woudn't get juice the other day. No matter what I did it had to get juice from the top or it give me a burnt taste. I just tossed it and put on another one. You get a bad one of anything from time to time but beings they last so long I'm still way ahead of the game. I'm sure the hole in the side was either blocked or nt all the way through.

The last three or four 510 fusions I've tried aren't pulling the juice correctly and will give a bad/burned taste after 3 or 4 hits. I widened the punched holes a bit but that didn't seem to help either. I've resorted to intentionally flooding the carto by doing several quick non-powered pulls but its not drawing much juice at all. Its almost like the batting is packed too densely and its choking off juice flow. Once saturated the flavor is fantastic, but having to manually wet the batting every couple of hits isn't much fun.

It may appear to give us a bad name to want negative feedback though I still make good on it and use that knowledge for future releases.

Now thats a big one. I had one that did that and went through the same routine. Though this was testing ratios. What kind of liquid are you using?

I saved my last two just in case he wanted to take a look at them. I've also got a couple of unused cartos that came from the same box.

The juice I've been using is probably somewhere around the 65/35 range for PG/VG ratio. Its a USA juice from V4L that I've been using for a long time in many different cartos.

Yeah I'm starting to think maybe I've just had bad luck in the dud department -- either that or this entire box is bad.

I also had a mega 510 fusion taste horrible...but it could of been my fault as it wasn't juiced up enough from the start. I tried another one and had it sit in juice over night, I put it in a tank took a couple of prime dry puff's and it has been awesome. I'm going to order some more along with some mega Plats which I also like alot. Just make sure from the start they are good and wet.

Just a quick update but I ran into yet another bad carto the other day and immediately switched it out for the last one in this box. 5th times a charm it seems as this one is performing pretty flawlessly without the weird taste -- going on 5 days now. 4 duds in a row seems like really bad luck so hopefully that covers my bad luck quota for the year.

Sorry to hear you had troubles but that doesn't happen very often. I had one box only last me 5 days but that was the only time. I had another on that had 3 do what you had happen but as a norm I get so much time out of them I figure I'm still way ahead in the long run.
