808/901 cartos on a 510 battery?

I found some old 808D cartos and batteries, and some 901 batteries as well. If I get a Riva 510 and an adapter, will these old cartos still work well on them? And I see that there are no 901 cartos on most sites... are the 808D cartos the same/compatible with other things that work with 901 attys?
