I just bought a new PT seeing as I figure I'd need one sitting at the computer all day long :)

This is the PT I ended up getting: SLB 510 High Powered Passthru

Its essentially a 910 PT with a 510 adapter on it.

I also grabbed an adapter 901 to 808D (for free thanks madvapes!! :) ) here: 901 Battery to 808-D Atomizer adapter

I took the 510 adapter off and replaced it with the 808D adapter from madvapes to use with my 808D-1 Cartos. I don't have 510 cartos o 901 cartos to test with btw, I just have 15 808D cartos and some clear CE2s.

I can't get this thing to work at all! The blue light lights up when I press the manual button but it seems like alot of air is coming through. I have tried to "adjust" the leads on the cartos and adapter to make sure its getting connection to no avail. I am using the usb wall plug (tried 2 different ones) and am about to try through my computer but I doubt that's needed considering I should have the juice through the wall charger.

Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone tried this before and had to adjust something or tinker with it a bit? Are the adapters wrong for what I am trying to use or do I just have a bad PT even considering the light on it is working fine?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

I have 2 wall usb plugs. One from my phone :) and one that came with my 808D-1 kit.

Not sure if this is right its just the info on the plug but...
Kit:
Input:0.1A max
Output: 4.7V ====0.8A

Phone:
Input:0.2A
Output: 5.1V === 0.7A

Also if this helps, I asked MVP about the Volts on the PT and they responded with: The 510 High Powered Passthru is about 4.5V

You need an AC to USB.

PC's are only specced to provide 500mA at the USB ports.

I recommend a powered 2amp 4-port USB to AC like Rosewill (I got that at NewEgg) or some like one from Walmart. You could use the PT on it and overnight you could charge up to 4 batteries on it. If you can figure out the exact max power draw of your PT with the carto or atty you are using, then you may be able to charge 1 or 2 batteries while using the PT. The total power draw of everything that's attached needs to add up to less than 2 amps (2000mA)

If you want something right away, call radio shack and ask if they have a 2amp USB to AC adpater.

Thanks dormouse. I totally forgot that a week ago I bought this: USB CAR Plug 5V 2A [Pass-Thru Ready] so I would be PT ready in my car. I just went out and tested the unit and it still doesn't work.
This leads me to believe its the PT not anything else. Am I correct in this assumption or are my adapters or cartos not able to be used with this PT? Just want to be 100% sure before I RMA it.

Thanks everyone for the input!!

Your adaptors and cartos should work. It really sounds like a possible connection problem, but if you have ruled those out, it could be the PT. Most times it is a simple thread issue and something does not get seated properly. If you have a multimeter, you could know for certain if the PT is putting out the voltage.

Well crap, I decided to do one more test and took the PT out to the car with the 5v 2A and my 901 Atty. It works and hits like a champ!! You guys were right, thank you very much! So the PT is good I just need to get a AC USB 5V/2A for the house.

Unfortunately I never use this atty (still don't understand them as well as cartos and don't want to drip on the atty while driving :)) and I am really wanting to figure out how to make this work with my 808D-1 Cartos. This didn't work with the CE 2.6-2.8 cartos either btw(808D CLEAROMIZER2.6-2.8 OHM). My reg cartos are these if it helps: KR808D1- Blank Cartomizer **I would say that these are 3.0's

I'm guessing its a bad adapter? As in the threads/leads aren't getting connectivity. So two questions/recommendations I have left.

Could someone link a good AC 5V 2A USB adapter? And where could I get a 901 to 808D adapter to do what I'm trying?

Thank again for all the help, I'll figure this out eventually lol

Our local OfficeDepot had some APC 7-port USB (powered) hubs for $9.99. I can't find them on the website, but worth a gander in your local store for that price. It's been working great. Got one at home, and at work - with PV chargers & PT cables coming out of both ;)

(here is the same unit on amazon - but 3x the price I paid, and it was NOT a sale price: Amazon.com: APC - Hub - 7 x Hi-Speed USB - desktop: Electronics)

I generally am only charging 2 at a time on the 7port - also have 2 wall-warts plugged in the power strip beside it.

Thanks for the updates guys, going to definitely grab an adapter after some searching, will check out OfficeDepot tomorrow! As well as Madvapes now :)

Wanted to also give anyone interested the way I finally got this unit to work. I had to use the adapter that came with the bat 901-510 and then also use a 501-808 adapter. By doing this I am happily vaping through my USB port on my computer. But want the wall unit so I don't burn up my computer like some of the horror stories I've heard.

Thanks again for all the input, you guys/girls rock :)
