Hi people,

I'm Mark from the UK, I am working in the states this summer. I have wanted to quit analogs for a while and came across the Blu e-cig. I was sold on its great branding and marketing, so bought the premium pack with PCC.
I started with it on 23rd of Sept, got 2 sets of cartos, classic tobacco which is a vanilla-y taste, and magnicificent menthol. I decided to jump straight in and cease analogs immediately.
Felt a bit weird at first, but it definetely satisfied about 70% of my analog craving in the first few days, I still craved them a bit, but not enough to go back. I was getting my nicotine, and perhaps more importantly I still felt like I was smoking a cigarette.

I burned through the cartos at the rate of about 2 or 3 a day, I only smoked about 10 analogs a day before (some days 20 but rarely, usually if I was going out or drinking). I realised almost immediately vaping was (at least to me), going to be more addictive than smoking. It was almost too easy - I didnt feel sick no matter how long I sat and sucked on this Blu e-cig. I could just about smoke 2 analog cigs in a row if I was really choking, but usually that made me feel sick. Plus it was easier to smoke now, at home, in the car, quickly at my desk if I really wanted to.....but I thought "this is probably normal" - and reading up most people seem to vape more than they smoked.

I soon realised the Blu cartos were not the best in terms of longevity, losing their taste pretty quickly. I started to panic a bit as the Blu cartos were going down rapidly and I wanted to get in some more, but knew the delivery would not be that quick. I could not go back to analogs!
I bought an X-hale O2 at 7-11 to tide me over, but hated it compared to the Blus. It tasted nasty and the cart design was not the best with the foil and wool inside IMO.

I got into the whole vaping scene pretty quick and had started researching a lot more, it was a huge scene! Great forums like this helped me big time. I am a techie so it all came naturally really, once I knew what each part did and deciphered the atty and carto speak, it all made sense, and I could start to make my own assesments of how I wanted to vape.

I had already started to order some more things after finding the Blu was compatible with the 510. So luckily the next day after the Blu cartos ran out completely and I had given up with the X-hale 02, I got in my orders from NW Vapors and Madvapes through the post. This was Wed 28th Sept.
I had made some good purchase choices thankfully. One thing annoying me about the Blu was the battery life so I got a 510 mega manual battery which worked well, but I realised the Blu USB charger would not charge it! Back onto madvapes then....

After my week of researching and getting to know the systems, products, I had also ordered some e-juice from NW Vapors. Vanilla Classic 50/50 VG/PG 12Mg (which is now my fav - very like the blu classic tobacco), Cowboy Tobacco 25/75 18Mg (not bad but quite tasteless), and Menthol Tobacco 100/0 6Mg (a bit too menthol for me but works nice in a mix).
I also received my now favourite new toys, a 510 USB passthrough (think it hits at 5v), a couple of atomizers and 5 transparent tanks, so I could be dripping straight onto the atty :) I knew the hit was going to be much better and it sure was. Loads of vapor, and an immediate blow out session trying the different combos etc.

The 510-Tank combo also worked on my Blu battery, and the short battery life was probably a good thing becuase it limited my time vaping on breaks at work. Vanilla classic was/is very addictive and I ended up vaping quite a bit on my USB passthrough for a couple of nights.
The big vapor production was very satisfying and almost killed any thought of analogs. I was getting my nic, my throat hit, and everything I needed. I didnt smell of smoke, I could actually smell things again too....but I was getting a sore throat......and waking up dry as hell in the morning. This has continued for a few days, also getting productive coughs, but think(hope) the cough is down to ceasing analogs. Trying to drink more, but probably am overdoing the vaping at night which is the main issue..anyways.....

Next thing was I realised I would break my attys eventually so ordered a few more of them from NWvapors, and some more of the vanilla e-liquid - 30ml this time in 18Mg 50/50, plus some Cherry (10ml) to try out.

It was nice and last night I vaped about 4-6Ml over the night sitting on the PC with the USB passthrough, talking to friends, staying up late.......well I had detected slight nicotine buzz the couple of nights before but last night I really got it vaping until 1230.....I went to bed and my heart was racing, felt restless, could not get to sleep, looked in the mirror I was definetely more red than usual due to increased blood flow probably.

Anyway it did not last long and before long I was sleeping. Still woke up this morning dry and with a sore throat, but it goes away pretty quickly, until I start vaping again at least. I got my next batch of Blu cartos and am now trying to use them during the day to stop any cravings, and save the 510-Tank/Drip combo for evenings......but once you have big vapor its hard to go back. I think I will manage though.

I have ordered some more stuff from Madvapes - some 510 refillable cartos so I can hopefully stop buying the overpriced Blu cartos, refilling the Blus doesnt seem to work great. Also ordered a USB charger for the 510 mega manual battery now, and some clearomizers to try out just for kicks.

I am hoping soon I can do without anything during the day and just vape casually at night, perhaps not even every night - so I can go out and not care about having to smoke/vape or worry when my next opportunity for a cig is like I have for the past 10 years. I cant see me leaving home without my Blus for a while though, its not just smoking, its getting away from the PC and the cube at work, and socialising with the smokers in the back area that is part of my addiction. Or smoking in the car, I have to have something in the car to keep me sane with all the mad drivers out there.

Anyway sorry for the essay, hope you liked to hear about my experience so far. Happy vaping.

Thanks for the welcome, yeah I need to drink more water generally, I never liked it, I drink loads of caffeinated? drinks, red bull, coke, etc, I'm drinking more pure orange at the minute (like right now as I vape on my passthrough!), seems to be helping a bit.
I always had a dry throat and mouth when I smoked analog cigs, this is no worse really, just a little different.

I liked the essay. Thanks for taking the time to write it. When I read the part about finding yourself vaping more obsessively than you'd ever smoked, I found myself nodding in agreement because that happened to me as well. I consoled myself that it was just part of breaking the addiction to analogs. Now, I find I can go hours without vaping sometimes, while other times I'm truly chain vaping. It just depends on what else is going on for me. The thing I like best is feeling no guilt at all, even when chain vaping.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to share with us. Welcome to ECF! :)

Hi Marko. I love long posts with details. Yours was especially enjoyable getting to live in lockstep with you though your victories, challenges and supplies. My theory FWIW is that we get dehydrated from vaping, the body knows something is wrong, we get anxious and vape more to relieve the anxiety and the cycle repeats and worsens. We get all kinds of clues; juice tastes funky, sore throat, headaches, heart racing, anxiety, sleeplessness etc. We can vape too much nic but lack of water is more serious. I'd suggest a lot more water and maybe trying some low-nic juice for your late-night chain-vaping sessions. Even if you don't lower your nic you could switch out the RedBull and OJ for H20 and get a huge benefit. I still vape a lot more than I smoked for all the reasons you stated so well. Drinking more water leveled things out for me. I don't feel like I must have an ecig glued to my mouth. I started measuring out my daily water. The first few days it was hard to drink so much. But I feel and sleep better, my skin feels/looks softer with a more even tone, no cramping after exercise, I vape slightly less and the fullness of the juice flavors has returned x10. Wishing you a Monday full of happy VapeMail and big bottles of water. Be well.

Yeah Blu is reverse polarity and its chargers can destroy 510's and vice versa. 510 mega manuals are great. At some point consider a big battery 510 device like Joye Ego or Riva 510 (in the US shop of Liberty-Flights.com Riva 510's a 3.7v and hotter than slim 510 w/ the same cartos - check Liberty-Flights.co.uk - if they have Riva 510 SE those are 3.7v and you would have have to ask of their other Riva 510 kits are new 3.7v stock). Note - the fat batteries use a spacial fast charger cable that will damage the slim batteries. Some other 510 options are most mods and I think in the UK you have Dave's Mods who only sells to UK??
