If you want to try out the KR808D and dont want to buy a whole new kit, you can mod your 901 batts by cutting a little slot through the connector. I used a Dremel with a cutting disc to notch the connector through the center post and down through the sides of the threaded collar. You only need to cut about 1/16" deep to get good air intake.

Don't cut straight down all the way to the housing or you will cut the center of the connector in half 8-o. Cut it down about 1/16" in the center, then cut the threaded sides at an angle until your hit the battery casing. Use your little Dremel wire wheel to clean off any burrs, and you are good to go.

The batterys still work with 901 attys btw. :D

I drill 2 holes in the side of the batt connector. very small holes under the threads and about 60 degerees apart. Make sure the holes aren't too big or you will get too much air flow..
If you look at a 808 batt they have these holes in them, they are very small and can be hard to see if your vision is even slightly impaired. The slot isn't necessary with these holes, as the Carts already have the slot in them.

He he Shreck, I can see the holes :), just don't have the bit that small. What size hole do you drill?

Thanks for this tip -- I have several 901 batteries just collecting dust since I switched over to the KR808D-1. I love using the cartomizers, and the 808/901 adapter I have is really "airy" plus just makes it so darned long with that thing on there.

I am going to try drilling one of my batteries. Thanks again.
