After my massive experience (just over 2 weeks at this) I have also noticed the effect Fiddler and Phildo refer to, ie the carts seem to get shorter and shorter times before needing top-ups the longer you use them. I am planning to collect a few of these poor-performers together then have a go at squeezing out the remaining fluid then see if I can 'wash' them for re-use. Anyone got any knockout ideas how to do this 'washing' without destroying the 'wool'?
As for alternative filler materials, I did try using a couple of cut-to-size(clean) handrolling cigarette filter tips last week. Seemed to soak up the juice OK but then wasn't too keen to let it back out again, stopped vaping quicker than I'd expected. May try again but dismantle it first, fluff up a bit and only use part of it for my next experiment.
If that fails, I have got some actual real wool (the stuff sheep grow, not a ball of wool) which I thought I could try out. I love to play!
