Sounds like a solid, compact, hybrid. What do you guys think? Hopefully we get to see photos of the atty deck soon.

What's a hybrid? I've read up on APVs, mechs, and now there are hybrids? So much to learn...

Hybrids are just mods where the atomizer/tank is attached to mod itself, you cannot remove it to use on another device. Most are mech's although I believe it is the Orion V3 that is VW as well.

This mod looks cool, I might get one. I was about to pull the trigger on a Noble 1 until I read about leaking issues. Little more money than I wanted to spend on something that I would have to fix. If they got all of that worked out I might just have to order both 1 and 2...

Oh, neat. So for these, I would only need to worry about batteries and wicks? I'm very intrigued by the kind of vape I can achieve with more advanced hardware, and these sound simple enough for a newbie.

and wire for coils... yes

not so fast....

You're talking about a genny here... learning how to properly oxidize stainless steel mesh for use as a wick and build a coild around that wick that doesn't short or produce hot spots is no simple task... the learning curve is steep... but rewarding.

I've noticed in pics that people have something that looks decidedly unlike silica or cotton as a wick, that must be what you're talking about. Would I have to use SS mesh for this? If you don't mind, can you explain why? I'm intrigued!

Genesis style atomizers are made to use SS mesh wicks with. They are vertical, making them perfect to use the SS mesh. The issue for newbies is that it takes a lot of time and patience to learn to wrap and oxidize a SS mesh wick. Because the current goes through stainless steel, you need to oxidize the wick by torching it. However, even with torching the wick, you still might run into hotspots and shorts nonetheless. In order to get a properly set up and successfully working genesis style atomizer, the user needs to be patient and experienced. Seriously, I have tried with gennys a million tiomes. I have set up the Ithaka, the Kayfun, and the Igo W without any huge issues and I still cant do genesis style attys with SS mesh.

Of course, you can always use silica or cotton. Some people also use ceramic. These are materials that wont short out your genny. Lastly, if you are a newbie, you can also use ekowool over your SS mesh to stop the short problem

You definitely don't need to use SS in a genesis. I never liked the fiddly nature of SS wicks so I use ekowool, braided cotton candle wick and ceramic in mine. They work flawlessly with no shorts or hotspots and take 2 minutes to set up.
There are lots of different methods for wicking, so don't let the thought of mesh wicks turn you off from getting a genesis.

For ekowool I feed it into the tank and double it up over the wick hole. This helps the wick hold more liquid for longer burns. Wrap the coil and lay a "tail" along the top deck. An added benefit to this is that if your tank runs empty and you dont carry a needle-tipped bottle to fill, you can use it like a dripper and it still works just as well. Ugly wraps in this pic but it conveys the idea:

As for the cotton wick- I double it up, feed the looped end into the tank and lay the tails on the top deck. Works the same for dripping if need be. Using wicks this narrow I wrap smaller diameter and tightly spaced coils (dubbed "micro coils"- there's a separate thread for those here):

Ceramic wicks are awesome and super easy to wrap a functional coil, but are pretty expensive, prone to breakage and require a bit of finesse:

All very feasible options for a genesis without the oxidization, hotspots, shorts, poking and fiddling that come along with getting a SS mesh wick to work properly.... At least in my personal experience. I feel like too many people ditch the genesis because SS is such a pain when they don't realize that making it work doesn't require mesh.

14500 batteries last about 30 minutes tops if you are running a 1.0 ohmish coil on a mechanical mod. Which this is. You can't run sub ohms as the amp limit on the 14500 suggests you shouldn't.. So, this device is, not worth $100 it's a novelty item, kinda like a toy that looks neat then you wish you had more. Maybe with the cotton fad and running a 1.6 ohm you might get more out of it, but as a SS mesh genny sub ohm, you should pass this one by.

The whole point of a hybrid is to reduce the contact points so as to push the watts. To do this with a 14500 is well... ridiculous. There are plenty of 14500 mods out there if your interested in checking out 14500's. They have their place, but I think in a genny hybrid, it's just not the right one.

Actually it's to maximise usage of wattage by minimizing voltage drop throughout the entire setup with less contact points. This setup squeezes more out of a 14500 than possible on a mod+atty setup. Therefore your argument is invalid.

On a side note, I did buy one of these... very impressive little device, extremely easy to set up took about 5 minutes and firing perfect, nice warm vape good th. No beveled hole for filling with bottle, wick hole seems small but my other 14500 hybrid is a temon so probably spoiled there, nothing to close off fill hole with came with it. Button is great. Lightest device I've ever used, 14500 battery feels like it weighs twice as much as the whole mod.

Impressive for 99$ for the whole setup mod & atty, I'd definitely buy it again.

humm I see there are some assumptions being made here. I have the noble 2. I for one love it, all aluminum, silver coated center post, brass bottom switch, what's not to love? and yes it is well worth 100 bucks. As far as run time I can vape the tank empty on a charge with my 1.3 ohm micro coil, keep in mind it is all aluminum so a lot less loss-resistance in the body. Not sure where 30 min came from. Now for vape production this device will compete with a lot of gennys out there, it will throw clouds, that is a very small chamber. Taste is very good as well so that is my take on the noble 2.

I have had one for 10 days I love it. Battery life has really surprised me. Flavor and vapor are as good as my drop mod or any of my Zen's all 8 eight of them. Now that said it may not outlast my Zen's, and I do love them , they are great. But this noble 2 is great for work in my shirt pocket. Plan to add a second for a backup for work
Don't let the nay Sayers stop any one from picking up one of these
