A good friend of mine has been smoking for 15 years and when we spoke recently, she asked how I liked my e-cigarette. Needless to say, I unloaded on her about the VK and Steve.

Kristen ordered her VK last week, got it on Monday and opened the box and started vaping on Tuesday.

I called her today for a follow up and she told me the following story, She's not a forum goer, so she will not be telling the story here herself, but someone has to:

Unbeknownst to me, Kristen's Grandmother died last week and she had to go to the wake and funeral this week. At the wake on Wednesday afternoon, it was obviously a somber occasion and her dad looked at her and said "let's go get $#!+faced", "hell yeah" she replied. They went to a local bar that they've been going to for years and everyone from the wake went with them. Now, apparently, Ohio (or wherever they are) hasn't gone the "no-smoking-anywhere-you-can-have-fun" route yet, so everyone in the bar was smoking. Kristen, on DAY 2 of her vaping, didn't have, nor want, a single puff of an analog.

She's reluctant to congratulate herself on this big win in her non-smoking, saying that she only quit 3 days ago and although it's going well, she's concerned that something is going to screw it up.

As I said, this is a huge win over her circumstances, as there are several things that cause people who have quit smoking to slip:
1.) Stress (including loss of a loved one)
2.) Social smoking (being around others who are smoking)
3.) Drinking
She not only conquered all 3, at the same time, but on day 2 of her vaping. I'm incredibly proud of her, and I hope that her story will help anyone on the fence who is reading this.

Thanks, Steve.

This is awesome. I tried to get my dad on e-cigs. He didn't really get the concept of using it instead of analogs. He kinda did the both thing.

What worked for me (and ultimately, for Kristen) was to not think of it as quitting, but instead as switching brands. She told me that she didn't even realize what she had done until she was driving home.
