Hey all,

I'm sure that someone has an idea for a "cap" that would fit over the shorty cartomizer / drip tip for increased pocketability / protection?

or

Even sort of atomizer cone that slid into the cup and extended at least a little over the drip tip joint somewhat to protect the protruding asembly from clumsiness? rphoto3.jpg

I attached a picture of an atomizer cone idea (i know it looks damn silly in silver, but just to give you a visual), but it doesn't fit down in the cup so I cant use it. Maybe Rob has or could make / sell them to match the color of the REO (or any color he wants) it would be beast! Perhaps it would need to be just slighly smaller in diameter than the cup with a groove and an o-ring to snug it in? I would buy one or two without haste.

I'm sure someone has something similar that they can recommend? i just want to add some protection to the carto assembly so I dont damage the threads if I do something stupid with these ham fists.

Or maybe there is a good reason that we shouldnt use something like this??? Im still nearly a virgin REOsapien so please bear with me!

Thanks!

Like a drip shield?
http://www.vaporbeast.com/Drip_Shields_p/a18.htm

No idea how big they are but I love the idea of drip shields. Need to find one that'll work on my 18490...

Right on. That looks to be along the lines of what I am looking for. I too have a Mini 18490. Are you going to check to see if they fit? Thanks Adeline!

I'm trying to find dimensions on them. I just need to know the OD.

I've seen other folks with drip shields on minis...

If I can't find dimensions online or advice from a veteran reonaut, I'll try emailing a couple vendors. And researching prices.. Here's some for half the price of the others..

The problem with drip shields is you need to use a 510/510 shorty adapter with any 510 atomizer.
The would probably go for the shorty carto as well (never tried)

They will fit perfect over a standard length cartomizer.

But adapters are bad so unless you use standard cartos I would resist the shiny bobbles :D
And with the adapter you actually making things less secure for pocket carry. You can't screw adapters very tight or they will short out your mod so things get kinda wiggly.

Yep Tim is correct adapters are mod killers . Even the 510 to 510 adapters I have tried are designed wrong for most electronic e cigs . I will order a few 510 to 510 adapters and see if I cant find one that is set up properly . In theory adapters should work great . The adjustable adapters do work great if there adjusted properly .

Damn you all are helpfull. I certainly don't think it NEEDS protection, I am just exploring if there is anything that could help protect the dragging assembly. Rob, that would be awesome if you could test rig something up and update on your success. I'm sitting here thinking how sweet a screw on blue cap that covered the entire protruding assembly would be on this amazingly engineered and crafted device. Did I mention it hits like a freight train? No but Shadco did and I second that.

I'm already plotting how I can convince my wife that I need another one for Christmas (incase someone ever stole this one outta my truck). It will be red and bear the name "Enzo".

Thanks again people.

Reo's are tuff. An atty or carto may suffer from a bout of clumsiness, but the metal Reos can take it.

I'm still using this atty, btw. :p

I just think drip shields look cool.. Especially the true empire shields. Shame about them not working.

Is there no way to use them simply for aesthetics??
You can use them many people do . If your going to use a adapter make sure you put it on your atomizer first snug it on the mod and don't over tighten it and you wont have any problems . The problem with adapters is the center pins can stick out to far and when you screw it on your mod you can crush the gasket that separates the positive and the negative

You can also run a drip shield on a long barrel atomizer like an HH 357 long barrel without the adapter just for looks. Same with a bare metal standard cartomizer. (the o-rings inside the drip shield won't slide over most black/wrapped cartos.)

It won't help with drips without the adapter, but you have a catch cup for that anyway. They look cool IMO.

Cool! I don't care much about it's drip catching properties, and I don't own adapters, or see myself using them, ever.

But some of them just look really sharp. I'm not a huge fan of cartos, but I've been eyeballing the 357s. I will keep that in mind!

I just threw on a 306 with a canon tip last night and it looks really good. I can't get the tip all the way on the atty though. Another day another minor inconvenience... :p
