I stopped smoking analogs almost a year ago and have no real desire to ever have another.
I'm my mother's caretaker, staying at her house during "office hours". About a week ago, I sat in her living room watching weather reports as the skies got darker and darker. A huge storm blew in with lots of property damage and, of course, a power outage. I thought through Mom's needs and was sure she'd be okay. I then reviewed my own requirements...oops! That was the first time since I started vaping that I had to wonder if I had enough charged batteries!
I had to use up all the ones I had on me while I was at Mom's. Fortunately I had power when I got home so I could recharge the drained ones. Mom's power was out for two days! If that had been me, I don't know if I would have been driving all over looking for a place with plugs I could use, or if I would have broken down and held out with analogs!
I've got 510s, egos, kgos, 14650s & 18650s. Does anyone know how long any of these would hold a charge without being used? Any ideas on an emergency battery supply for foul weather? I can't be the only vapor living in an area prone to storms!
Thank any and all who help for their time! I really do appreciate it!

Last summer when I went on my first camping trip as a vaper I was a bit worried about recharging. Turned out I was able recharge my batteries in the car with a lighter-USB adapter for 3 or 4 days with no problems. I started the car once to run it for a few in case I was wearing down its battery, but I don't think I even needed to. So, if you don't have one, pick up a car lighter to USB adapter, and just head out to the car if you run into a long blackout.

If it were me I would just get one of those 4000mah USB battery packs and an eGo passthrough battery, then just keep a cigarette lighter USB adapter in my car in case of extreme emergency, that should do ya! Honestly though, if you live in a storm prone area you should probably get at the very least a small whisper 1000amp generator so you can run your fridge and a lamp...oh yeah and charge your vape gear. I live in SoCal and even I have one LOL...but that is because the cost of living is so high here you never know if you are going to be homeless tomorrow!

Yep - you can pick these up at most gas stations, wally world, target, etc. Just don't leave them unattended for too long.

I did 3 1/2 days last fall with no electricity. Things that helped

1) Switch to a higher ohm/carto atty to make your batteries last longer.

2) Those computer surge protectors/battery backups for you computer will charge quite a few cell phones and ecigs and protect your computer from surges when you have power. 2fer

3) Your car is your friend if you have one. A converter is cheaper since you don't need separate car charges for all your stuff. A USB lighter adapter also is handy.

4) Lots of spare batteries of course helps.

5) If power loss is just local, schools, libraries, and friends will let you charge batteries.

6) Generator (we have ordered one since our electric company's repair employees are 3 states away.) 2 days until they even begin working is the new SOP

Something nobody else has mentioned so far. What about a UPS/battery backup? You can get some cheap ones for around 20-30 bucks at most places that sell office supplies. Most are made to run an entire computer for a few minutes, but I can't imagine it would have any issues at all with charging several batteries. All you'd need to do is charge up it's battery, take the battery out so it keeps it's charge, then when you need it, hook it back up, plug in your wall charger, and voila! Haven't tried it myself, but might work?

I had to go with regular gasoline since I have oil here (the exact one that I linked, I believe). It was a few years back during a particularly bad winter found these parts (I'm sure you remember it). Natural gas is better if you can do it though.

That was the year that everyone (around here) heard the term "Roof Rake" for the first time ever. I still get cold thinking about it. Even in this heat.
