Excellent, I was about to recommend this. I have it for emergencies. It is a must have.

I work at Lowe's, and we sell several different emergency power supplies; their main function is to start a car with a dead battery, but they all have USB ports and one can power an AC device for a short period of time.

We are not spoilt for choice in the electronics or brains department. Went to Jaycar (electronics chain store), asked for a portable solar charger, got pointed to roof mounted model. "Nooo, *portable*" I said.... (1 minute while the guy thinks) "Never heard of them!".

In a country at the bottom of the globe with some very isolated spots and a propensity for earthquakes, extreme weather and power failures you would think.... (rant)... but apparently not.

Amazon in their wisdom do not ship electrical goods here.
