Been cruising this forum for a month or so. Thought I'd introduce myself. I was an analog smoker for 35 years until I got diagnosed with the Big C a year ago (no not smoking related). Apart from a very rare puff here and there when it all got too much I went cold turkey. I'm out the other end now and I can no longer work (retired evidently) and I've been missing badly my old friend the durrie (slang in Australia for cigarettes). Out of mild curiosity and boredom ordered up an ego battery, a CE5 and a couple of zero nic juices (can't buy nic in Oz). Oh yeah, life is good. How did they keep this secret for so long. Needless to say I've now thrown myself in both feet and all. Quickly stocked up on different tanks, a Provari, a Vamo, Protanks, coils and now DYI supplies. If only I had a spare hand it'd be perfect. After lots of failed attempts to find a juice that worked for me I fell upon an ADV and all night, that truly rocks. It's a mixture of vaping Zone super concentrates Nuport and Caramel Mocha. Oh lawdy lawd, something this good can't be legal  I know that some people might be concerned about vaping and cancer. I'm not one of them. I figure if you can survive the cocktail of nasties they call chemo, you can survive a few food flavoring. I may be wrong but my stress levels are at an all time low and that's got to be good. I reckon we'll look back on these times and wonder why in hell it took so long to come up with an alternative nicotine delivery system. That's a discussion for another day. So good luck to all the other newbies. What a delightful adventure you have ahead. Blessing and I look forward to meeting you all.

Potholerepairman - you're clearly one of a kind. Very funny on so many levels - you have no idea. More like big girl panties though. Now I'm stuck with an image of Bridget Jones in my head  and Kebinking, after 4 years here you're one of us now. Nice one. Yeah, with the price of ciggies you need to get a second mortgage on your house - crazy hey? It's a bit sheltered here in Oz at times but we call it the lucky country for a reason, especially our health care system. No nic though...

Congrats mate, glad you could make the change. I started vaping about a year ago but took me a while to move up to the big boy toys. I'm in Geelong so I know how hard it is to find anything e cig related unless I go to Melbourne. Found its best to order from o/s but there are one or two places to get supplies if you run low.

Glad to have you with us Trinoz. Thank you for sharing your story. I'm glad you're doing well all things considered. After smoking for 33yrs at 1.5 pad I finally found vaping and couldn't be happier myself :) It's the best thing since sliced bread as far as I'm concerned. Glad you joined us here at ECF! Hope to see you around! Happy Vaping :vapor:

Thanks for the recommendation. I must confess though - I have 2 litres of 100mg nic in the freezer. I got it from VZ. Went into a bit of hoarding in case the fun police turn us all into criminals down the track. I figure I can taper down over the next decade. Good to have long term goals. Had a funny moment today. I live about an hour from the nearest big town (Newcastle). I don't go there much as I've just inherited a big old house with a big old unruly yard. I've started digging a pond and fear if I continue I might hit China soon. Anyway had to go into town today for supplies in my new dual cab ute with tinted windows (a must have now that I'm a land owner;) Now I thought I was pretty concealed but I swear I got some funny looks today sitting at traffic lights with my Provari and a lovely gold G50 tank (I think that's what it's called), hooked in the corner of my mouth. I had a few laughs as I wondered what people must have thought I was doing. Oh yeah, one other thing. Be careful. Too much vapor can certainly make driving hazardous.

If you have an inclination towards playing with gadgets or electronics i feel the e cig hobby takes over quite quickly. Best of luck. Stay off the Durries. The way i think about them now is as an old friend. I can reminisce about the old friend because we had such good times together in the past. But the relationship was destructive. So i can no longer see the old friend durrie.
