Hi guys, i recently got into vaping, I have a few simple questions. I'm really happy to experiment and learn but im trying to avoid breaking any of my new toys out of ignorance.

My equipment is a Smoktech Natural and a Provari(in the mail) with some protank2's, an RSST, and a Kayfun 3.1.

1) With regular tanks how long can/should i leave my ejuice in them? How often should they be completely disassembled and cleaned? (vs a light rinse out)

a) I understand that certain juices (citrus etc) can cause a plastic tank to crack and fail. Protanks are glass?
b) Will SS wicks cause a flavor change or discoloration, if yes after what period of time?

2) Deleted

3) Battery Storage, those of you without one of those clear plastic battery cases, what do you do with your spares?

a) Non-conductive being the key, would something like this work? or is the metal zipper likely to cause an issue? I'm a battery layman, sorry :(

4) Safety Fuses, im considering getting one for my Natural. Do they work well? Impact performance?

a) I have read in several places that you should never attach a magnet to a battery because it is a dangerous (why? no clue!) yet these devices seem to attach magnetically to your battery. Is safety a misnomer with these fuses?

Last one i promise...

5) From the best of my understanding a kick is a device that allows for a mechanical mod to behave like a VV device. Is that true?
a) Kick vs Kick2? hmmm just a newer model? or is it a different device?
b) Does a Kick improve safety? Built in safety fuse?

Thanks guys, and sorry for the spread there.

Welcome!

"Recently got into vaping"... You definitely jumped head first IMO. Not that it's a bad thing if you can. My budget doesn't let me unfortunately.

Guess recently is relative though. I'm five weeks in and just got my first MOD yesterday. No where near enough research for a mechanical yet.

1a) Yes PT's are glass, as are PT mini, PT2, PT2 mini, PT3, and Aero
3) I use a plastic "bead" box I picked up at Walmart ( in the craft section) to keep batteries, extra heads, tools, wire, wick, etc. All isolated from one another.
3a) I have an ego case for on the go, but I don't use it. My OL' Lady on the other hand keeps her stuff (mostly like a change purse lol with her PV) all tucked inside.

That's all I can contribute, as I have no experience with any of the other questions.

Yeah i sure did and man did the water get deep quick! Haha, thanks for such a fast response. I started about 2 years ago to quit smoking, but just gas station disposables. Came back to vaping a couple months ago when a friend handed me her HALO Triton. Which I loved. Quit smoking again. (Yay!) But after a month of the triton and researching, I knew there was a better vape out there. So while I'm not starting from the ground up, I'm definitely a layman. So "a while" in this case is ehhhhh, a while. : )

I got the Natural as more of a back up. And since im a newb with a desire to mess around with micro coils I am worried the provari will throw a ton of E1 and E2 errors at me. And that it wont be able to do the "pulse" method which i also want to experiment with. The Natural seemed like a cost effective solution to that. I figured an Ohm meter combined with http://www.pbase.com/kentc/image/126942330/original.jpg (this post was an eyeopener) would keep me safe. But that might just be ignorance and too much youtube talking.

1.) Depends on the juice, no doubt. As a general rule of thumb, crystal clear juices will cause the least amount of hassle involving cleaning and maintaining your coils, i.e. dry burning whilst the thicker, sweeter darker juices require a more habitual and thorough cleaning. Hard to say for sure, use your best judgement and if you notice performance lacking it's never a bad idea to give everything a good clean and tweaking.

B) Probably, but I have minimal experience with SS mesh. It's really only a big deal if you use genesis-style RBAs. I think the most common thing I hear concerning is: "SS Mesh tastes terrible," and "Damn shorts." Stick with organic cotton, Ekowool/silica, or something more exotic like bamboo, XC-116, etc. Just make sure you do your homework when making your choice.

2.) Shah-zow!

3.) I only have two 18650s and an MVP v2. My spare 18650 is usually sitting straight up on my desk. When out of the house, at work, I usually only drop my voltage around .2v to .4v per day. It's not a big issue for me to carry a backup since I know it will last me as long as I will need to use it. Still, something plastic seems like the best choice.

4.) Sure. Impact performance? I don't think so. If you were using a mechanical they might lend to voltage drop, however slight, but even if that were the case you'd hardly notice. I have a cheap disposable fuse from MtBaker. Haven't needed to use it because I'm well under 7 amps and feel more than comfortable with my experience at rebuilding. I believe this is a popular choice however. They're reusable. I saw a different reusable one that seemed really cool, could've been the same one actually but it was definitely a different site.
A) Kind of makes sense. Electricity.... magnetics... Maybe they upset the protons? Hah. I did have this one little LED light that would only turn on if you removed a magnet stuck to the surface, though. o_O Somebody needs to elaborate!

Either way I think they're a nice fail safe and definitely add to peace of mind.

5.) Yes.
A) See this review
B) Don't think they have a safety fuse built-in. Not sure actually. Don't quote me on it ;)

Vape well, vape often :vapor:

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You answered all my questions!

Regarding the SS mesh, i was only intending its use for the RSST and even then had hoped to use a different set up if possible. Still have a lot of experimenting to do on that (and every other) front.

XC-116, I had to look that one up. I did order a set of ceramic wicks, or maybe they were graphite? Im not sure, they havent arrived yet. But they are going in the closet for now, I guarantee getting a strong foothold with SS mesh/cable, silica and cotton alone is going to take me a month or two of experimenting at least.

Ok, now, no offence (truly) but Bamboo, really? Doesnt that sound just a tad too hipster? I am definitely going to read up on it tomorrow because you have me curious.

I will keep looking into the kick2, probably let that wait a little until I am more comfortable with the Natural. But I did just place an order for the fuse you linked. Thank you.
