I have bottles of Tribeca in 0mg and 18mg versions, which I mix in various strengths depending on my mood and the time of day. It took me a while to notice this, but the 0mg is clear while the 18mg has a distinct yellowish color. Is this just due to the difference in nicotine content? Go ahead and laugh if this is common knowledge; I'll readily admit to being a newb.

The other thing: I like Tribeca a lot (obviously) but there's this one unpleasant flavor note I detect when vaping it by itself in a clearomizer that I don't taste when it's mixed with other juices (Torque or Voodoo) or loaded in a cartomizer. I'm having a really hard time putting my finger on it, but it's kind of an unpleasant oily taste. I don't notice it as much if I keep vaping but it seems really pronounced at first. Is it just me or do any of you taste it too?

I rotate my all day vape between Torque56 and Tribeca and I've been doing so for about 4 months. I've worked around the different nic levels as well. The 0 nic bottle you have, is it newer than the 18mg? I've noticed that most eliquids tend to get a little darker in color after a good steep. Tribeca always tends to have that golden tint to it. The longer you have it, the darker it gets. If you let it steep with the bottle open or loosely tightened then it'll darken more quickly. Vaping it in a clearomizer tends to darken and thicken the juice toward the end of the tank. This also kinda happens with a genesis atty. the only difference for me is that while the juice may get darker in a genny, it doesn't get thicker. My genny turns my Tribeca brown.

As far as the difference in color, my guess would be that one bottle is older than the other. I've never seen 0mg juice, so I don't know if that would make a difference. It seems to me that the juice in the clear sample bottles get darker faster than the juice in the cobalt blue bottles. So light absorption may make a difference, though I don't know if that's actually true, or just the way I perceive it.

As for the oily taste. None of us know what the base flavorings Halo uses are. But some of the DIY folks making their own juice are using flavoring like LorAnn Oils Gourmet Flavorings. So sometimes oil based flavorings are used. Just because the rest of us may not be noticing what you are, doesn't mean it isn't there, but rather that it's just something you're more sensitive to, especially from a clearomizer. There are some flavors I like better using a LR cartomizer, and they taste different to me loaded in a mini tank. I have no idea why, I just know that's the way it is. :)

I noticed the taste thing too...Tribeca was almost buttery and Voodoo had a sharpness--both were interfering with the taste, although I do like them both. Then I read a post here that they were really good mixed together...and they ARE. The "problems" seems to counteract each other. Give it a try! I mix them 50/50.

ETA: Obviously I need more coffee...you've already mixed them! Sorry about that.
