Hi all

I used to be a social smoker (between 2-20 per week) and, after moving to e-cigs I don't go near real ones any more.

But so far I've only messed around with E-Lites and flavoured cartomizers from cartomizer outlet.

The problem is that since going E, I'm sure my nicotine intake has increased ten-fold. I often sit around all evening with the thing in my mouth, because it's so enjoyable.

I'm ready to move on from E-Lites!

What I really want is:

- a good starter kit (Kanger EVOD looks good, but battery of 650mAh seems paltry - is it?)

- a good UK seller with lots of fun flavours (strawberry, vanilla, apple, cherry, etc.)

- buy flavours without nicotine, then add it myself. Is that even possible? I want to reduce my intake to zero, but want to test the ratios myself

Any help greatly appreciated!

Basically I'm more interested in the flavours than the nicotine, but can't find any info on that.

HI :) Ok I'm in Ireland but I'll give you the other info. The Evod starter kit is a good choice, many people start there and successfully give up the fags using it, if you think the 650mah battery won't be big enough, you could try the Ego twist 1300mah, which will definitely be faithful to you. As with the flavours without nicotine, you get 36mg, 24mg, 18mg, 12mg, 6mg and 0mg in Ireland. You could buy any flavour liquid you desire at 0mg, and buy a flavourless 6mg nicotine or something, then mix the flavoured and unflavoured 50/50 which will half the nicotine. You can also buy nicotine and add it yourself that way. I don't know any UK online stores, but I'm sure someone from the UK will provide a URL for you.

Welcome to ECF :toast:

Hi mrmat, welcome to ECF!

The Kanger Evod is a fine starter kit, though a 650 mAh may not give you much life without needing to be recharged more frequently. You could easily get a full day out of an 1100 or 1300. I can't help you out with UK sellers, but there are many members here from the UK. Most eliquids are available in a number of different strengths, including zero.

Once you have more than 5 posts, you could post some of your questions about adding nicotine in the DIY sub-forum in the general eliquid forum. It's very doable, and many people prefer to make their own.

Good luck to you!

1. The EVOD's a fine starter kit but you're right, 650mAh is a little small. Since you already know you like vaping, you might want to consider something around 1100. The "spinners" are great beginning batteries and not too pricey.

2. Don't know anything about UK suppliers. Sorry.

3. Weening yourself down to 0 nic is a good goal and certainly possible, but I'd start with pre-made juice. DIY is fun, flexible, and overall cheaper, but there's a decent initial investment required and a learning curve.

Welcome to ECF & congrats for giving up the old ciggies! I can't help you with UK vendors since I'm state side, but there are definitely a few over there from what I know. I'd check the positive vendors section for some suggestions.

You're probably one of the few that those cigalikes would work for...being a social smoker, able to come and go easily, is an ideal market for those. Nonetheless, the a good kit is worth it IMO. I'd concur the the 650 battery is a bit small, but it might work for you. A 1000mah or better will last a bit longer...and having two means charge and vape at the same time. I'd also probably recommend dropping your juice to 6mg (or less) at your level of vaping...that means you can do it more without necessarily increasing your nicotine. You can even combine 0mg flavors with 6mg (or more) to customize the level even further, but it's a bit more loosey-goosey than ordering a specific level. If you get into DIY, you can tailor it exactly how you want with relative precision.

Definitely check out the DIY section here and maybe even a few Youtube videos for people doing it. If you can cook something more complex than macaroni and cheese from a box, you can probably do DIY without trouble. Then, you can get things exactly how you want.

Good luck on your journey!

i like the EVOD, After i drill out the air holes to 2 mm (takes like 5 minutes and makes a huge difference)
Check out Electronic Cigarettes | E Cigs | E Liquid - Totally Wicked
i buy from totally wicked USA all the time.
tons of great e-liquid flavors.
you will pay a bit more but Totally wicked only sells top notch gear that will last a very long time (no crappy knockoffs / clones)
and customer service is great.

Hi MrMatt,
I was a cigar smoker until 3 weeks ago. Now I'm running a Kanger EVOD and i have two 650mAh to get me through the day. I'm unsure what regulations you may have in the UK, but I mix my own juice. I've tried store-bought and on-line, but didn't really enjoy them. I wanted my peach to taste like a bite of fresh peach. The juice has 4 components; Flavors, VG (vegetable glycerin), PG (Propylene glycol), and nicotine. I vape my nicotine at 18 mg per ml (that's about a pack a day smoker's intake). If you do buy zero nicotine and add, be careful. 24 mg per ml is as high as I would go (that's a 2 pack a day smoker). Since you were smoking a pack per week, maybe 8mg/ml would do you right.
