Bought a Reo Mini from vape Classifieds on Facebook. All black, and I love it so far!

Here are some issues though:

The battery door slides off almost every time when I put it in my pocket. It latches fine in use, but it definitely slides off too easily when I throw it in my pocket.

I feel as though I've lost a little "kick". Checked the Noalax, looks fine to me, no oxidation I can see either on the pin.

Maybe I'm just flooding the atty? It's a 1ohm 306 with a shorty drip tip. It used to be nice and HOT, but I feel as though it's cooled off. Setting it at 3.7v on my Twist gives it the warmth I got used to. What gives? My battery is freshly charged too. Maybe I'm just getting used to it?

Also, is there a way to get rid of small scratches from the black version? They aren't deep enough to show the aluminum underneath, but a little annoying nonetheless lol..

Thanks guys.

Welcome new Reonaut! Sorry you are having some problems.

First of all please bookmark this Index thread. Lots of great information here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/270331-free-reo-forum-thread-index.html

Here is a thread on the loose door:

May I ask what batteries you are using? The recommended are the AW IMR 14500 3.7. They give the best performance with the L.R. atty's.

Flooding a 306 will give you cooler vapor, and reduced vapor. If you are using a 1ohm it should get plenty hot. I usually use a 1.5 or 1.8. My batteries have no problems giving me what I want with a 306.

You might want to take the atty off, the bottle off, battery out, and give it a good bath. That's right just run it under some nice warm water and get it all clean. Put on some more Noalox and see if that helps.

As far as the little scratches, well they add character! It will get more and look even more used! We just learn to love them!

Haha, thanks! I'll look into everything you posted above.

As for the "kick", I just swirled the Noalax around with a paperclip a bit (moved it to the center) and it seems to be working a bit better! I'll probably just wipe it off and put some new stuff on there though!

I'm using AW 750mah 14500's, they're all I own lol. I used to use them in a VV box mod before the Reo.

I've never bathed the Reo, but it sounds like a plan actually. I'll get on that when I get home.

Yeah, scratches add character, but I still don't like them :p.

I saw in a video that someone mirror-polished theirs, I wonder if that's possible with the black finish?

Yes, you can polish it. You have to work to get through the anodized but it is possible. Mother's Mag polish is good. I have a couple polished and it got rid of scratches for me. They were not very deep though.

Nice, I'll have to try that someday!

I'm thinking that because this 1ohm is...well..1ohm, it's just starting to be on it's way out. I got it in a PIF along with some eGo stuff a while back, but it's not branded or anything. It's probably just the atty, and not the Reo.

I'll have to try it at home with a couple of other atty's tonight to confirm!

I really got tired of giving my REO a bath. And I got tired of the 306's flooding. I LOVE the Cisco 1.8ohms on it, but when they flood, it sucks. So, moving to the super shorty cartos from Smok, I haven't give the REO a bath in months. And flooding is NEVER an issue. It made my experience much more consistent. And, the super shortys last forever. I've been getting about a month out of each one.

You can make wraps for them if you're up for doing a craft project. This is one I made for my silver grand:
eveningmini.jpg
It's just a piece of vinyl cut to size, and a squonk hole cut out. It's attached with a piece of tape, and there's a Velcro closure so you can unwrap it to change the batteries.

I've also seen some decorated with stickers, laptop decals, or adhesive carbon fiber. The finish is pretty durable, so if you don't like something you can always clean it off with Goo Gone or acetone.

Try giving the tip of the firing pin just a little scraping with a nail file, the noalox it.

yes...even though you don't see anything on the pin, I find a light scrape with an emery board and fresh noalox on the tip works wonders. In fact, part of my regular routine with all the metal REOs is a light scrape and noalox in the pin and the battery every time I change out the batt..I live right on the ocean and may be a tad paranoid about salt air, but it comes from experience..lol

The batts nerak suggested are AW IMR 14500 which as far as I know are made only in 600 mAh

These guys ^

I'm not sure about making wraps lol, but I suppose it's worth a shot. I might make some small detail enhancements haha.

I've got to go pick up my tube of Noalax tonight and scrape the pin a little bit, but I'll report back!

On another note, I'm picking up a Cisco LR306 1.5ohm tonight!

You are correct, the AW protected batts are 750 mAh, but the AW IMR batts are not protected and 600 mAh.
