A couple questions.

I have a kanger evod bcc starter kit (I paid about 97 for it plus a bottle of juice at a vape store).

Im new to all the gadgets and things but my questions I have are:

1) when charging the battery up I notice the charger is blinking red & green and Im wondering if that's normal?

2) what's a good new tank to get next?, I dont mind the tank it has now but Im wondering what a next step to upgrading it would be. Ive seen a lot of videos and reviews and read a lot but Im wondering what's comparable with keeping my evod battery.

3) if I wanted to get another full setup/kit what would be my best bet while still keeping within a budget?

Hi Beitriis.

I started with a Kanger EVOD starter kit, and its a great kit. I will try to answer some of your questions:

1) The flashing lights are nothing to worry about, mine tends to flash when its nearly fully charged, and then goes solid green when it is fully charged.

2) I just bought an Aspire Nautilus Mini as an upgrade to the EVOD tank, and it is fantastic. The taste is amazing and I would highly recommend it.

3) When I bought the Aspire Nautilus Mini I also bought an Innokin iTaste MVP 2.0 to go with it. They work beautifully together.

I hope some of this helps :) :vapor:

Evods are great for newbies and veterans alike. I still use mine often. I would like to take a moment on the Evod tanks. I use the original single coil Evods and think they may be one of the easiest most fool proof tanks ever. One you learn to rebuild them, you may keep coming back to them over and over again. One step up for use on the Evod batteries is the Protank II mini. A glass tank that uses the same coil as the original Evod single coil tank.

Try to get an mvp2 for $40; that will take care of power for a long time; thereafter you can spend more time considering the topper- the thing that goes on top.

Suggestions for toppers:
miniprotank2v2
or miniaerotank.
These come with eGo thread- the outer threads you see on your evod battery; fits sturdily, just like the evod tank does, but these are glass.

Thanks for the advice, New question: is a quick rinse with water good enough to clean the tank/ coil?

I ended up putting too much juice in my tank and so it was all dripping in my tip so I ran it through hot water and rinsed off the coil as well.
Just wondering if that's enough or if I just possibly ruined a coil. :/
Running water over the coil is not bad, just be sure to dry it off well before placing it back on the battery. Your coil likely has a silica wick and it can be dry burned (take a look at YT for videos how disassemble and do it).

Blinking light when charging, nothing to worry about.

I go back to my evod tank on a VV v3 from time to time. I personally like rebuilding my coils around 1.5 Ohm with cotton and find the performance better than the original.

As far as upgrading to a different tank, IMHO; look for a glass tank that uses the same coils. Glass is good for the juices that are known for breaking down the plastic tanks. Prefer to have the same coils as it makes life easier and no worries if you have the right one. A .22 LR will work in a long rifle as well as a pistol, get the point.

The MVP and the VV by innokin can use 510 or EGO threaded toppers. Other batteries you may look at in the future may have only 510, not a big deal as you can get a 510-to-EGO adaptor (I have one that I use with my Hana and the evod tank).

I have found that sometimes just a quick rinse does not completely clean the tanks. Find a rotation (say once a week) that works for you and soak everything but the coils in hot soapy water (I use dish soap). Then scrub using q-tips and whatever else is handy to get the last bits of juice out of the tanks and get any gunk out of the threads.

For the coils just rinse quickly and let dry overnight, or just keep using them, and rebuild or replace if they start to make your juice taste funky.

Since nobody else mentioned this, I will... $97 for that kit is more than likely double what you would have paid for it online. So I would definitely order your next kit or device online to save some money. Oh and don't feel bad that you paid that much, most of us did pretty much the exact same thing with our first purchase(s), myself included

As for your next kit/device... One of the most recommended devices (for a first upgrade) is probably the MVP 2.0, as it's a great device at a great price - here's where I bought mine from - MVP 2.0 ~ VaporEngine Then just grab a couple Protank 2's ~ VaporEngine, and you will be set :thumb:

Oh and like others have already mentioned, it's perfectly OK to rinse the tank/coil with water, just make sure to give it time to dry before using it again.

The chargers for the eGo and Evod and similar models all switch modes while charging. It will charge for a while and the multicolor LED will be red, then it switches to voltage check mode for a second or so and the LED turns green. This cycle oscillates back and forth throughout the charge cycle. When it flips to green, reads the voltage and finds it to be fully charged, then it will remain green.

If you don't mind your tank being a bit wider than your Evod, the Aspire Nautilus Mini is a great tank and it uses the same bottom vertical coil atomizers (BVC) as the full size Nautilus. The Included trim ring creates a nice looking transition and the Nautilus is known for outstanding flavor and vapor. When you decide to move up to an 18650 mod, the Nautilus Mini will be right at home on it.

Have I mentioned that I love this ecf community? , awesome responses everyone. :)

I dont really like the look of the chunky box vapes and prefer the pen styles myself so how could I get a better battery but still have a sleek pen style?

The nautilus looks very nice!

Also yes I do feel I overpaid when I bought my kit but Im wary of buying online :( I dont want to get ripped off or end up buying the wrong stuff where im so new.

Again thanks to everyone, you are all awesome and super helpful and welcoming and defiantly helping me keep strong on staying off cigarettes when some people I know in real life are almost lightly bashing me for it ♡

Still trying to convert one of my roommates to make the switch as well and so far she seems interested but I can't guarantee she'll go ahead and do it...I guess some people are just set in their ways.

Never hesitate to come here ask us about personal experience with an online vendor. The folks here fantastic and are unlikely to steer you wrong.

Haters are going to hate, don't sweat it. As far as the roomate goes don't push the vaping. If you have house rules like no smoking inside with the colder weather coming up, vaping is so much warmer.

*blush* thanks geekmedic :) I definitely dont think anyone would steer me too off track, guess Im just a wee bit paranoid over the buying online in general, I've had bad experiences with eBay in my past :p

Also I've mostly noticed American sites and not sure about shipping to canada or if its going to get seized in customs if I did order online as Im not sure really on the whole laws about it specific to my province. :/

I agree on the haters part, I just find when I get negative feedback it almost makes ot harder to keep vaping instead of just going back to being a smoker and "following" so to speak.

No house rules theres smoking indoors always has been, not everywhere I go in smoke indoors but with the vape it has been alright for me to do so since theres no smoke or smell its easier to get away with.

Ouch $97??? I paid $23.99 for mine and its a genuine Kanger!
I just upgraded to an MVP 2 on Monday ($35.99 for that one), and decided to take the Evod in the car yesterday and wow. Its so "weak" compared to the MVP. I used to love it but I don't think I can go back after the MVP now haha..

I have no idea what the rules are for importing into Canada. I know that we here at ECF have a few Canadian's hope they will see this and chime in for you.

IMHO; I find most shops to be way over priced. That being said if they have STELLAR customer service it may be worth the price. Juice you should be able to find an online vendor with better prices.

I found a place semi local to me woth great service and better prices than my first store. I ended up getting two bottles for the price I paid for one at the other store.

I fogured id keep my questions to this thread and I presently have a new one.

Im noticing that when I use my evod now its like gurgling or air not really sure on that.
Also my evods little steel bit is getting warm to the touch.
Ive only had them for over a week now are they broken? I dont notice any liquid leaking or anything just wondering what I should do.
