A couple of simple mods I have made recently
5 Volt double barrel, and a mad vapes kit.

Very basic,same wiring as the 2aa box...just 2 low res cartos from mad vapes.
wiring was a pain, very short wires.

Interesting. Which 5V regulator did you use?

Those almost look like DCs X 2 @ 5V = 6A +.

it's not regulated, just using a 4.8v batt( I think from madvapes) It lasts all day with fairly heavy vapeing.
Will try to get two batts in the next one. Would love to do a bottom feeder, just don't know how yet. Maybe
4 of the 3.7batts with the regulator from Madvapes if it is idiot proof. Will try to remember to take a pic of the guts tomorrow,
It is not very impressive as I have soldered a total of twice now.
