Since this is the new members forum I thought it would be fitting to prepare those as new as myself from making the mistakes that, even with the forums, I have been making. vaping is wonderul, I absolutely love it, but there is a dark little side of which I feel new vapers should be made aware so they can have happy vaping days.

The dark little side;

-Flooding an atty-you will flood an atty, it will get all over your hands, you will have to blow it out and you will need to learn to carry a tissue or hankerchef with you until you learn how much juice you can get away with. On the upside, your hands will always be soft to the touch and you may, depending on your juice, be complimented that you smell good enough to eat--like a bakery.

-You want to be careful the first time you use a drip tip, there can be too much of a good thing.

-To avoid alot of pain, before your kit even arrives go to Petsmart, get some blue filler and wash it up good. When your kit arrives throw out the filler and stuff the blue stuff down the cartridge from the get-go, it makes a happy vaper. You may not believe me, but after a couple times of your white polyfill burning itself to your atty I'm sure you'll see my reasoning. The lipton tea bags, well, they work for some, I didn't have a good experience.

-You will learn very quickly that in addition for the need to keep your atty wet to maintain it's life you will taste the burn of it's impending death if it is dry.

-You will swallow some juice, another good reason to have some kind of rag on your person.

-Keeping hydrated, ok, I'm not going to speak on this because I've been a very bad girl when it comes to that.

Anyone else have little warnings so newbies know the dark little things to watch out for.

It takes a bit to get the kinks out, but vaping is so much better than smoking.

Oh, thought of another little dark secret. Shopping experiences will change dramatically when you go into stores looking for "solutions" for your vaping habit. For example, I found some nifty little, metal, keychain pill bottles at CVS yesterday, they hold a 3ml bottle quite nicely, an eye-glass holder for my mega batteries (also can fit a 3ml bottle). Checking out different pharmacies for flavors you don't have yet....

I did the lip burn on a LR 510 atty.....OUCH!
Another important note: keep extra batteries charged and at least one atomizer with you. You don't want to be caught looking for that pack of cigs that you kept hidden (I admit I did this because I was skeptical). Also, atomizers need to be cleaned with alcohol or vodka. The cleaner, the better flavor, vapor, and life span.

What works for one person might not work for you... so be prepared to do a lot of fiddling and experimentation at first. This forum has tons of info, so read up for ideas. Example: The "blue-foam" and "tea bag" mods? I found them... meh. Notso-hotso. Cutting half the cart filler out was what did it for me, until I got good at dripping and discovered LR cartos.

Don't try to swallow the whole pizza in one bite; start at the point, and slowly work your way to the wider end (then try another slice), if you know what I mean :)

Oh, and carry a few paper towels with you (wet-wipes are nice, too). You WILL be getting juice all over your hands for awhile.

Great advice from everyone on vaping so I'll take it in a different direction. I've seen a lot of folks say they bought a ton of equipment and juice not long after they start. I think it's better to wait a while, maybe a month or two, before buying too much. My equipment and juice choices changed pretty quickly. I think that's common. Don't get stuck with a lot of stuff you may not use. (I'd be surprised if we all didn't have some. I sure do.)
