Mining in space

Company hopes to mine the final frontier

Within 10 years, the business intends to diversify into space mining. Diamandis estimates that an asteroid 30 metres long can contain as much as $50 billion worth of platinum. It could also yield water for consumption by astronauts, or for producing hydrogen fuel for use in future space exploration missions.

I know by critical resources, you mean more, like food and drinking water and stuff, but still.

The Prevailing theory is that through most of the world birth rates have been slowing and are likely to peak at approximately 9 billion, barring any natural or man made disaster, such as meteor strike, pandemic, bio or nuclear war, etc. it is also thought that is close to the carrying capacity of the earth. We'll need to get smarter about how we do things to make it, though.
