Hey what lens are you using ?

That varies with the conditions. The Sea Otter was taken with a Canon 70-200 f/4 L series telephoto. The Toadstools were taken with a 17-40 f/4 L series wide angle. The Turkey Vulture was taken with a Canon F/4 300 IS L series telephoto. I also have a Canon 400 f5.6 L series telephoto that I should have used to take the Turkey Vulture photos with because of the distance away he was. :( Our cameras are Canon 7D DSLR's.

How do you feel about the nikon D7 ? Its just couple of bucks cheaper

Roxxette,
Nikon makes a Super Fine Camera! The D7 is a really superb camera and a solid performer. I tried Nikon cameras out when I was about to purchase my first DSLR. As you can see in the photo of me, I have HUGE hands. Nikon Cameras did not feel right in my hands. Then I tried Canon cameras and fell in love with the way they felt once in my big paws. :) I also liked the way the camera controls felt and where they were placed, so I bought the Canon.

I have been constantly upgrading my camera bodies and lenses, so now I'm at a point I have far to much time, energy, learning and money tied up into Canon Cameras that it wouldn't be worth it for me to change.

Shoot whatever Feels good in your hands and does the best job for you!

Hey GPR, if I'm ever in the PNW I'm coming over and you're teachin' me all about taking good photos.

BHam my friend, it would be my Honor to teach you how to take good photos! :) I owe a lot of my photography skills to a dear friend and mentor who passed away this last winter..... Mr. Lee Mann. He taught me so much and I am so Thankful for my time with him! (do a search for Lee Mann on the net) Another Professional Photographer that taught me a lot was Mr. Matt Brown. With two Fine Photographers like these Gentlemen teaching you there is No Way you couldn't learn something unless your brain was a Rock!

:) Such a Fine Man and a Super Fine Photographer! This world is a better place for having him and his photographic skills! He is gone now, but his photos live on to make our days a little brighter! :)

In my own small way I try to emulate his style into my own, so that I can pass on the beauty around me that he showed me. :)
