Hey guys i just have a couple of questions i wanted to get some advice on....

First off wifey's been having a really tough time getting back off of the ciggarettes....I'd heard in the past of some juice that tastes JUST LIKE a cigarette (burning paper taste and all) but cannot remember for the life of me what it was....Anyone know any good juices for that?? I'm trying not to force her too hard into giving up the ciggs completely but as money gets tighter its going to be inevitable i just hope she can come to that on her own....

Second off i have inherited an indulgence from a friend that seems to be not be working so well....I've ordered 2 of the 3v batterys for it and going to give it another go but for some reason it seems that the harder u push the button the better it works....any ideas on this or do i just need a new button?

As always thank you all for everything u've done for and that u constantly do for others. You all are good people :D

What Mark said...and a tobacco flavor that I really REALLY enjoyed was the Tennessee from Vapor Station. I vaped that for months with my morning coffee to kill those morning cigarette cravings. They have another one called Tampa that tastes like an ashtray smells...not really *my* thing, but very cigarette-y.

I don't vape tobacco flavors, but I've heard ppl rave about Backwoods Brew tobacco flaves. The Halo line also is another one I hear is pretty good and close to a flave she might like.

If you do decide to try the DIY route, you might want to check out this thread about ppl coming close to the Halo/Torque flavors via the DIY route.

Another thought is maybe she doesn't like fruitish and candyish stuff. Maybe you should try something like a Toasted Almond or a Peanut Butter or a lime/licorice mixture. Possibly even something like a waffle.

That's the thing she does love fruity and candyish stuff....She's been smoking and vaping lately and i told her i can't afford to pay for both and i'm not about to go back to ciggs lol

Well, sounds like she's still trying as long as she's vaping. Maybe she's just taking a little longer than you did. Why do you say it's costing too much for her to do both? It should actually be cheaper, especially with the cigarette pack prices way up there in MD. Is she buying juice and then not liking it, puts it aside and orders more? Or does she keep buying more PVs? Some people (like me) couldn't quit right away. Maybe she's stressed out and relies on cigs to relieve her stress? Or maybe her hormones are all jacked up? Sounds like to me that if she's vaping, she's still trying to make this work for herself. I've been vaping for 11 months, and I still get an occasional craving, so I just shut my eyes and do some deep breathing until it passes. I wish you both peace and luck on her efforts and your patience and support.

She didnt care for the juices that the members here made for her?Maybe try some vendors stuff. Is she still using the 808 stuff that Trish sent?Maybe let her try your Riva since you got a new/used toy. There are alot of sales and some vendors have pretty cheap prices to begin with, just have to look around and find a bargain.Keep and eye on the deals and steals thread,I see some great deals in there. Most of us are in the same boat finantially so they post alot in the D&S thread.Just keep trying.Vaping can save you money over smoking if you look for the deals.

Completely agree with this, let her try the riva and I'm SURE she will love it. I'm using the Riva 901 with LR atty and its massive vape with tons of flavour, this means I can up the nic so I never get a craving without getting nasty taste from it. I HATE tobacco flavour now and its only been 9 days!

Mate if I was in your area, even your country, I would knock on your door and juice you up. I really hope you succeed with getting wifey off the cancersticks.

Love to all!

Thanks for your good wishes. With her she's mostly vaping when she can't smoke (like when our daughter is around). She is preferring smoking right now which is the problem. I say I can't afford both to her just to kinda try to nicely drive the point home that ciggs are really really expensive especially in our horrid finical situation.

She started out using the 808 stuff and switched to an eGo that she got as a christmas present. I get her LR attys just like me the only difference is her eGo is pink (which she loves lol). I've been keeping everything as cheap as possible i order from cheap places like madvapes lately. The 808 stuff is now mostly used by either myself or my brother (who vapes when he can't afford ciggs or bum ciggs off anybody lol).

I know the switch was easy for me and so im probably not the most understanding person in the world about it but im trying to help and keep her feelings into consideration. I know i used to hate it when people used to hound me to quit smoking so i'm trying to just help her make the switch instead of forcing her to

Maybe she is missing the MAOIs in burning tobacco that no amount or strength of juice is going to give her. Can you try some snus. I know here in Mississipi a pack of Marlboro SNUS is less then $2.
Or I have some Camel I can send the next time I leave the house

I tried but she refuses to use SNUS for some reason....I'll try to talk her into it again and see if it works but i doubt it lol

Regarding the tough button - I'd try a little alcohol wash there. As long as there is no power to it, there should be no concern of a shorted circuit. The alcohol will dry quickly and clean it up pretty well. May just be a bad switch though.

As far as switching - when I got my PV, it wasn't even my intent to quit smoking. I just wanted an alternative, much like your wife. However, I was rolling my own at the time, and I was out of supplies with no way of buying mroe for about a day. I could have bummed from father-in-law for the day, but I got my PV that day, so I made the decision to use only that. After 24 hours of use, I could already smell and taste more - especially the smoking area of the basement. Just smelled like rancid ashtrays. Maybe you could convince her to give it a go for a day? In fact, the inconvenience of carrying supplies may be problematic - replacing batteries and carts is a hassle. Maybe a juice box could help that. Check out this thread for some info on "The Self Juicing Box way to quit Analogs".

That's exactly what I did - using one of Old Goat's 3.7v bottomfeeder mods. Carrying that puppy around my neck made it even more convenient than analogs because I could pull it up and have a puff or two, or vape for ten minutes like I would a cigarette. Obviously, your mileage may vary, but it's something to consider.

I recommend Ron (Old Goat) because I've dealt with him and he provides excellent customer service and probably the best price on bottomfeeders (aside from building your own) - which means I don't get any commission or recognition of any other kind for recommending him.

Oh wow sarah, you may be right. It's been so long ago that I so totally forgot about the MAOIs! Here, lemme tell you what happened to me. When I took my very first moutful of vape, it astounded me so much that I knew I could do this. Everything went so eazy peazy for four wonderful, proud-of-myself days. Then a huge cloud of depression hit me like a sledge hammer. I began looking around for a cigarette, even an old .... would have suited me fine at the time. Nada. I got in my car, drove to the first convenience store and bought a pack of cigs. I couldn't even wait to get home. I just sat there in front of the store, unraveled the pack and lit up. Eeeeeeeew, nasty nasty pooh tasting! I took a few more puffs and then got that gut-wrenching wave of nausea I remember getting when I was 14 and trying to learn how to smoke like the cool kids did, LOL. I was so unsettled and ill that I didn't know how I was going to drive home. Of course it passed, but then I started crying halfway home. I ran to my computer and got to ECF to see what I should do. ECF moderator UntamedRose, who is also a SD Co. neighbor and personal friend, suggested I use some lavendar or rose oil aromatherapy. When I put a few drops of rose oil in my lamp ring, it worked immediately. Not sure if it was the aromatherapy effect or the beautiful smell of fresh roses, but it worked!

So yeah, it's a strong possibility that the lack of MAOIs is what's hindering her.

Don't worry about buying a new device right now, that's the last thing you should spend money on currently IMO...you've got 808's, Riva's, a mod...whatever else, so really you're good there...you're on the right track trying to find her something she craves to vape over the cigarette craving so keep going with that. That "all day vape" thing is very helpful when trying to leave cigarettes behind you. If you've got liquids she doesn't like, you might want to put them in the swap thread to see if you can trade for different flavors she can test out (if you haven't already). :)

Thanks for the encouragement! So far she likes just about every juice i've ever ordered i guess just not enough to stay with it over the ciggs so im hoping a juice that tastes just like a cigg will help *fingers crossed*. Should be getting some in soon and i'll let you know how it goes

I don't know about soaking in alcohol, but an agitated alcohol wash may help. Remove batteries, put it in some container with alcohol, and agitate. Just a little shaking. Maybe an overnight sit if you think it'll help.

Speaking of which, I have a sticky button I need to clean as well...

EDIT - I should mention that you'll want to watch where you get alcohol. Apparently, circuit boards can sometimes be a little sensitive. I don't know anything about the mod you have as far as internal workings, but regular electronics and mechanical contacts would be just fine.
