and that's what I did. All is good. Thanks for the advice gang!

That's great news. She's probably a chain vaper because she's not footing the bill; which will slow down once she starts paying the bill. Anyone who is serious about quitting tobacco will manage their vaping habit and should be GRATEFUL someone helped them start down that road.

Kudos to you for being her friend and getting her off to a good start

I would tell her To go to the library section of ECF and learn how to vape and take care of equipment. But then my ex and my son both vape and she has a nice 510 she got from me and he has a nice 5volt mod, batteries and charger he got from me plus ever so often they get some new juice from me so I'm probably not the one to ask. :):):)

I'd also look into building a simple box mod as back ups for both of you.... the soldering skill required really is minimal...the parts can be had for around $8 (heck madvapes even has predrilled kits) but you can get most of the parts (except for 510 connector (and those can be scavanged from dead batteries) from radio shack if you're really desperate...add on a reliable atty (I'm partial to the 306) a cheap drip tip (easy to make at home)... and a couple decent 14500 batteries and charger...

it may not be cig shaped...but it'll give you peace of mind and will vape in a tight spot....

This seems to be a misconception. She paid for her kit and (until yesterday) paid for all she had. After discussing with her the various issues (and ways to rectify it) I learned that she had a juice order on the way and needed some backup juice to tide her over. That was easy to provide (if not a little inconvenient.) The atty request was out of left field but came from a comment I made about 'dedicated atties for various flavors'. She thought that the atties she had weren't enough to accommodate her incoming flavors. Her battery issue was legit. I ended up convincing her to get an eGo passthru from Liberty Flights ($20 after coupon code) which will allow her to charge and vape as well as untether her pv while boosting battery length. $20 she could reasonably come up. Everyone is happy now.

IMO mistake #1 was the 510 PCC kit. A 2X ego type kit can be had cheaper and eliminate the batt problems many encounter. IMO you can avoid mistake #2 and that is instead of pointing people straight to PIF, point then to the new members section and have them read ALL the rules, stickies, etc. that people have put so much time into to help others learn from past mistakes.

Teach a person to be frugal and shop around stock up when items are on sale, they may vape a lifetime. Give them a batt and a bottle of juice and when that's gone they'll probably come to you for another. I believe in the old saying about opinions , that's why I do my best to speak from experience. My experience is that people that have to make sacrifices to vape are the ones more likely to succeed in doing so, the ones that are handed everything to vape with not so much so.

I knew a kid as a teenager that liked to run his Oldsmobile in 1st gear up to 70MPH, he had parents with money that replaced them for him every time he burned one up, he did it time and time again. I had a 69 Mustang and did that one time. I had to pay for and replace it myself, needless to say there is a reason I said one time.

My experience tells me that we can in trying to be helpful actually HINDER one's chances in being a successful vaper, but that's one man's experience. So take it as you will. boB

Fair enough. I wasn't aware that she would chain vape as she wasn't a chain smoker. The 510 was (and is) pretty solid for me and after explaining to her that the battery only lasts an average of 2 hours she was fine with it. Lack of experience does that to people...

I *ALWAYS* point to New Members Section first! In fact, if you read my post you would see that I am *NOT* pointing her here at all...

The above did not apply to the situation until she texted me yesterday! She purchased all of her own stuff. Period. In fact she was initially looking to purchase spares from me. Purchase being the operative word which seemed funny to me as she is not in the best of financial situations. I agree with you completely on your final sentence though.

I also value this statement a lot. As I said in an earlier post all has been remedied and I appreciate your input boB.
