Welcome , and if you give it half a chance , after a few weeks , you won't even want a regular cigarette , anymore . I still had cravings for 6 months , or so , but I just vaped a higher % nic. juice , and the cravings went away . Now after almost 2 years , I never have any sort of cravings , for the old stinky sticks . Hang in there .

I'm still in that infancy stage where I think I need my analog security blanket. At least a half of security with my half pack. I haven't lit one since the arrival of the Ego C, currently vaping 24mg of various juices. Every once and a while I get the mind tweak, like going to the recycle the other day, I checked my pockets for the smokes and lighter...duh>, not an actual craving...the result of a 35 year habit. Don't beat yourself up too much....it is your story and the slight misstep is in it. Get back in the saddle....for me having the cigs on hand keeps the demons away. I carry them everywhere with me, but at this time I prefer the vape. I think I will have one tomorrow...I say that to myself every day.;)

I feel bad, I have had four analogs today. I messed up and got a pack of real cigarettes just to see if I could still smoke them. It's harder, harsher. But I still find I want a few. I'm trying but it feels like I messed up some today. I wont be buying anymore.

Don't think about it as the 4 you smoked, think of it as the 16+/- that you didn't. Everyone quits at their own pace. I smoked the odd one here and there until I got my equipment and juices just right, and that took a good 4 - 6 months... of course, I started vaping before eGos were born. :)

Your doing great, don't fret about a ciggy, is not worth your time.

Before you think you might need a cig...vape.
Anytime you used to have a cig- like the first thing AM, Coffee time, walking the dog, when you get in the car....vape.
If you feel you want a cig...vape first. If it doesen't go away...have a cig, but you might need to up your nic juice.

Most of the time, Vaping can substitute for smoking, with the right gear and the proper nic juice...but you need your nic !
You need to vape (get you nic) before the urge hits- because you need your nic, and your body and mind are not going to let you get away with not giving it to them...so feed the nic to them before they 'ask' (scream at you and try to drive you crazy !)

If you can train your mind that you will not deprive it of the nic it needs- just that you will be giving it to them by Vaping....
It will not care that it is getting nic through Vaping instead of smoking...and it will stop bothering you.

Rooting for You !

I agree with StormFinch. Think of the ones you didn't smoke. I've been smoking about three regular cigs a day since starting this vaping (all of five days ago). Yeah, I've smoked about 15 regular cigs. But I was up to as much as two packs a day. So I have not smoked about 185 cigs.

Me, I call that a win.

So how many did you not smoke today? :)

I gave away my last pack of cigs, but I've always known that I have a bag of tobacco, a roller, and a bunch of tubes sitting right by my desk. Just knowing that it's there actually kept me from smoking in the first few weeks that I actually quit. I'd be out and think "that's it, I'm going to the store and buying a pack" and then tell myself "just roll one when you get home." By the time I got home I had vaped so much I didn't even want one. That bag of tobacco is still unopened. :)

And yes, don't beat yourself up. Most people here go through a transition stage, vaping and smoking together. I did, my dad did. Actually dad will still have a smoke every once in a while and still not buy any. His motivation was "I'm not giving any more money to Marlboro" but then he bums a smoke and thinks "Ewwww this doesn't taste like mint chocolate!"

Yup. I went in to a store I occasionally stop at for gas and almost, habitually, asked for a pack of smokes. It was quite a liberating feeling to remind myself that I'm not smoking cigs any more! Old habits die hard, indeed.
