Hey guys! Sorry for this enormously long post, but I have only just started my vaping journey, and have too many questions!

My story...
I recently got a bunch of vaping stuff, quit the analogues, and am loving it. I have also set up my husband, 2 friends, and directed a few fascinated strangers on the street to basic 650mah and stardust starter kits/blister packs which they are all loving:). However I did a ton of research and asked a bunch of questions before I got my stuff, and chose slightly different things for myself.

I didn't/don't have a big budget compared to some, but wanted the purchase to mean something to me financially as it will get me in the mindset that I am really committing to quitting analogues, so I spent to the top of my budget (maybe if I stick with it I will get a provari one day, but that is a while of saving off!). I got a 900mah ego battery, a mini vivi nova, Kanger T3, and a spinner, and a whole bunch of 5ml juice samples. I liked different things from what I expected - juices in particular. My spinner has died however:cry:, though the vendor has kindly offered a refund, swap, or an exchange for something else. So here is where my questions come in for more experienced vapers...

Battery advice...
I went for the spinner as everyone said the difference in VV is awesome. I just didn't see it though, and found I actually used the spinner as back up and the one I intended for back up as my everyday. I prefered the simplicity, the pattern options and the size of the simple 900mah battery - I know it's silly to pick it based on looks:oops:, but prettiness is important to me for something I carry and use all the time. I find the TH, vapour production and flavour perfectly adequate, amazing, even too much, on both the spinner and the simple battery, and couldn't tell much difference with the spinner at different voltages. BUT I realise this may be because I am new to vaping (only 2 weeks) and the advantages of the spinner are just not coming into their own for me yet.

TL;DR - Do spinners have a reliability issue (it is a genuine Vision)? If not, do I stick with the spinner and get a replacement and wait for it to shine, or might it just be the case that I 'fit' better with a simple, pretty ego battery?

Clearo advice...
I expected to like the Kanger T3 better from reviews, but I don't really like the drip tip, and I also find it leaks a bit, floods and gurgles - is this common or did I just get a dud?. I love that I can change drip tip on the nova, it has not leaked or gurgled at all, BUT it eats a hell of a lot of juice compared to the Kanger.

I love the fact that you can fully clean clearos, and I think they are beautiful, so I want to stick with the style, and I am a bit of a fiddler, so I like the 'take it apart and rebuild it' element. I am thinking of rewicking the nova with one long and one short wick to try and reduce juice eating, but still keep it wicking well to the end of a tank (if this sounds like a sensible idea?)

TL;DR - the clearo questions are... is rewicking the nova in the way mentioned above a good idea? Will it make it use less juice? If not, then are all Kanger T3's the same - is it worth trying again? Any other clearos that you can recommend that come in colours, are rebuildable, and are hardy enough to travel a lot for work and be chucked in a bag on its side or even upside down without leaking?

Thanks for any help!

You'll love the EVOD. Get a spare 5 pack of heads, some 32 and 30 Kanthal a-1 and 1mm silica wick or other wick material of choice. Really easy to rebuild.
I've had zero issues with my vision 1300 spinner. I really prefer it over my ego twist. Dimensions are better and dial easier to read. Maybe you got a bum one or a knockoff. I'd give it another chance.

I may be of some help as far as the Spinner but I use a Boge F17 carto tank. I have quite a few ego type batteries and I definitely put the Spinner at the top of that group. I mainly use a vv Gripper but DO have a full carto tank on a Spinner to alternate flavors with. I think as you progress in vaping you will find the attributes of the Spinner. Latter you will be sorry you no longer have it. The Spinner will allow you to get the best vaping experience as you experiment with different delivery devices and ohm settings.

You probably just got a bad battery. Vision makes a good product but with all mass produced stuff there is always the chance bad ones will slip through.

The Kanger T3 is a good clearo. Could you be filing them wrong? If you are getting juice down the center tube hen filling they will flood if you don't blow them out. Also when refilling some juice will run down the tube. If it's just flooding even with blowing it out you may just need to change the head assembly for $2. Is it a genuine Kanger or a knock off? The knock-offs of good items are usually crap.

I haven't really noticed much if any difference in the way juice usage between a Nova and T3. Maybe you vape the Nova harder because you don't have the flooding issues? I've never rebuilt one as the work fine and the new atty's are cheap.

Those are the 2 clearos I recommend as the others I've tried all had issues. Both of these I've carried on their side and upside down and had no leaking issues. It's not for long periods of time. Just remember your dealing with a tank of juice with a wick and and airhole and will all leak at some point or aother.

I believe that the kanger head is bad. You can get a new head. (I had one that was bad right out the box.)
As for the nova rebuild. I had tried rewicking long and short. Found that when it got close to the bottom of the tank, I was getting
dry hits. So I started rebuilding them the same wick length as the original.
As for the spinner. The variable voltage come into play with different Ohms coils. (like the different heads an the novas)
I cant speak for the reliability of the spinner. Other will chime in on thier experence.

Among other things, I use 3 Spinners, and have had no problems with any of them. Probably just the (bad) luck of the draw.

It's very true that different juices taste better at different voltages (which gives different power to the coil.) And also true that it gives you flexibility to use different resistance heads. (For example, many of the Vivi sets come with 3 different value coils, which will give a different taste using the same juice. So if you're stuck with a different value coil, you merely adjust the voltage to get back to where you want it.)

Thanks for all the help everybody!

I think StevesCVO hit the nail on the head for me when saying that maybe I just vape the nova harder - I realised that it is true and I think it is actually because I really hate the drip tip on the Kanger, rather than the flooding issue on this specific bad one. It helped to clarify the decision for me - even if the Kanger had worked, I personally still wouldn't like it because of that problem, so it doesn't make sense to try another Kanger anyway! I have ordered another nova instead. Thanks for the experience you shared Dovahkiin about re-wicking it, I guess I will just leave it as it is - I actually broke one of the wicks when cleaning it, and that seems to have helped, so if anything I will try that again, or just leave it, it works so well for me in all other respects it's not a huge problem anyway (I just can't resist fiddling!).

On the advice I got here and at UKvapers, I am changing over to the simple ego, I just prefer it for this stage in my vaping journey. Since I am saving money overall vaping anyway, I can always reassess in a few months and order another one without feeling too guilty about it! Perhaps the advantages will be more obvious to me when my tastebuds have recovered a little from the analogues! It's good to hear they are generally reliable, so when I am ready I will order a new one with confidence! Meanwhile, in these early days, all I need is to be using things that make vaping a more fun and attractive prospect than analogues, and I just found the spinner too complicated and too boring looking to keep my attention well enough!

Thanks for the help and for being a lovely forum - it makes it easier to stick with vaping with so many supportive and helpful people ready to help when things go a little wrong!
